It looks like new Eminem music is in the works. According to director Allen Hughes and 2Chainz, the Detroit MC is in the lab prepping his ninth studio album.

In an interview with Uproxx, Hughes discusses his upcoming Dre. Dre and Jimmy Iovine documentary The Defiant Ones. When asked about the noted producer’s day to day business dealings the filmmaker confirmed sessions with Mathers.

Dre still records. People don’t know this: Dre records every day. Literally, he’s in there recording songs every day. He’s like Picasso in that way. He’s always painting. Right now he’s producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem’s latest album. So Dre’s still real active in music, you know? But I hear what you’re saying. It’s the truth.

Aside from Hughes, who is one half of the creative team responsible for Menace 2 Society, 2 Chainz also confirmed he will make an appearance on the forthcoming album via a recent interview with DJ Drama. He details flying to Malibu to work on a song that features Slim Shady on a trap tip. You can peep the interview below starting at the 17:30 minute mark.

Ironically the normally reclusive Em has crept back into the public eye. He appeared at a high school in Flint Michigan to donate Beats By Dre headphones and more recently a bearded Marshall recently shouted out his former protege 50 Cent for his birthday.

Given what Jay-Z delivered in 4:44 do you think the self-proclaimed Rap God will get more serious on this new album? Sound off in the comments section below.
