These scammers are getting hella violent. A man was stabbed after he purchased what he thought was an iPhone, but actually ended up being an empty box.

Bruh…

Reports Gothamist:

The incident occurred on June 29th, 2017, around 5:50p.m. in the Bronx, near East 167th Street and Grand Concourse, according to the NYPD. Apparently, the 38-year-old victim paid a person for an iPhone, but after handing over the money, he “looked inside the box and noticed there was no phone inside,” police say.

The victim started to chase the iPhone grifter but investigators say another person who was nearby “pursued the victim and stabbed him in his chest.”

The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Police released a video of the iPhone box seller, describing him as being about 5’6″ and 230 pounds, and wearing a cap.

Moral of the story, make sure the phone is in the box before you give up the cash. Also, a dude rocking a white tee and du-rag ensemble in 2017 may not be a reputable salesman.

Just saying.
