Before becoming the poster child for gentrification, Bushwick’s only real claim to fame was the BDI Thug, Buckshot (he had everyone in the hood open). Now the piece of Brooklyn that many hipsters and yuppies call home for months at a time is the featured setting for Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott’s action film, Bushwick.

Starring Guardians of The Galaxy actor David Bautista and Brittany Snow, the film centers around a future American civil war where military forces from seceded Texas state invade the Brooklyn neighborhood and declares Martial Law.

With a war going on outside no man is safe from and a gang of trigger happy rebels holding it down in the underground, Bautista and Snow find themselves in a deadly game of survival.

Bushwick debuted back in January at the Sundance Film Festival and gained so much praise that it was nominated for the Narcisse Award for best feature film at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival in Switzerland.

Bushwick drops August 25.
