After years of working exclusively with adidas, Nike will officially take over the NBA landscape for the 2017-18 season. Today (July 18), the Swoosh revealed their newly revamped and technologically advanced NBA uniforms.

While on the surface the jerseys seem to have simple modifications, it’s the science behind their creation that should really make the difference.

Aside from being constructed out of Alpha Yarns and recycled polyester (with each uniform representing 20 recycled PET bottles), the new Nike uniforms have been designed to remove moisture 30% faster than today’s tops, hence, faster drying time.

Players were given test runs in the new jerseys and provided Nike with their feedback on where improvements could be made and Draymond Green couldn’t be happier with the end product.

“When you look and feel good, you play good,” says Draymond Green. “I welcome any competitive advantage on the court and the new Nike NBA uniforms deliver on the feedback that we’ve provided.”

For now Nike will be employing a few different kinds of uniforms: The Association Edition (aka “Home” uniforms), Icon Edition (aka “Away” uniforms, and the Classic Edition which will be limited to 8 teams and their classic uniforms.

The Athlete’s Mindset and Community inspired edition are slated to make their debuts down the road.

Check out what Nike has in store and let us know if you’ll be rocking these on the court when you’re getting them buckets or just coppin’ a bucket.
