Kidd Creole of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five has been arrested for allegedly murdering a homeless man. Creole, who is the brother of Grandmaster Melle Mel, is accused of stabbing a man multiple times just before midnight Tuesday (Aug. 1) in Midtown, New York City.

Creole, born Nathaniel Glover, 57, was arrested on Wednesday (Aug. 2).

The New York Daily News reports that the homeless ex-con, John Jolly, 55, hit on Creole before the altercation on E. 44th St. and Third Ave.

One source says Creole, who was on his way to work as a security guard and handyman, got into an altercation with Jolly, who he believed was hitting on him.

Said the source, “He turned, interpreting that the guy was making an advance toward him. One thing led to another, and he shivved him twice in the chest.”

Jolly was rushed to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police reportedly used surveillance footage to help identify Kidd Creole as the attacker.
