Yesterday (Aug. 31), news broke of a Cobb County police officer reassuring a white driver afraid of getting shot that “We only kill Black people, right?” That cop has been fired.
Blessings to whoever invented dashcam video.
Kind of makes you wonder, though, would he have been fired so quickly if he had actually shot a Black person. Or would he still be on desk duty pending an “investigation”?
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Lt. Greg Abbott was notified that he was getting axed. However, he reportedly sent his superiors his resignation, via e-mail before they could officially do so.
Good riddance.
