Missing Black Chicago Woman Found Dead In Hotel Freezer, Allegedly Set Up By Friend
The body of missing 19-year-old Chicago woman Kenneka Jenkins was found inside a north suburb hotel’s walk-in freezer on Sunday. Jenkins was attending a party over the weekend at a hotel in Rosemont when friends say she went missing before authorities discovered her body in the early morning hours.
Kenneka Jenkins was last seen Saturday morning and reported missing at about 1:15 p.m. She was attending a party Friday night on the ninth floor of the hotel.
Her family said that police told them that Jenkins was intoxicated when she walked into the freezer.
However, the family believe there is more to the story.
While foul play isn’t suspected at the time, police are continuing to investigate the matter. Jenkins’ sister informed police that the woman was last seen heading to Rosemont for the party last Friday, and texted her early Saturday morning.
Jenkins’ body was found inside the Crowne Plaza Hotel, and the establishment published a statement saying it would cooperate with the investigation.
UPDATE: According to a public Facebook post by Jess From IG, Jenkins was allegedly set up by a friend. The video suggests that Jenkins may have been sexually assaulted and cried out for help. We must warn you that the images, discussion, and video for this link are highly disturbing.
