Dave Chappelle Wins Emmy For Hosting Saturday Night Live
Dave Chappelle is officially an Emmy Award winner. It’s not a lifetime achievement award for the late, great Chappelle’s Show, though, but for his hosting duties on Saturday Night Live last season.
Chappelle and Melissa McCarthy won the outstanding guest actor and actress at the 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, respectively, for their SNL appearances.
Hosting the show in November couldn’t have come at a more precise moment, days after Donald Trump managed to swindle himself into the White House.
Chappelle got plenty of props for his monologue, but he also regrets telling people to “Give Trump a chance.” In May, he told an NYC crowd “I f*cked up.” Yeah, we definitely saw that one coming.
Congrats to Dave Chappelle, b*tch.
