Today (Sept. 22), Jhené Aiko surprised her fans by dropping a new album titled Trip.
The album is accompanied by a short film of the same name while the project is being touted as 10 years in the making. The LP, and film, also deals with the loss of her brother to an inoperable brain tumor.
“In sharing this…I hope to inspire others to share their own mistakes, imperfections and fears,” says Aiko in her “mission statement.” “I believe in doing so we can understand each other better and realize we are more alike than different…I hope to inspire others to share their grief and pain because I believe suffering can be alleviated when we understand we are not going through any of it alone.”

Checking in at 22 tracks, the album features appearances from Swae Lee, Big Sean, Kurupt, Chris Brown and more.
