Family Matters, the hit sitcom that debuted in 1989 and ended officially in 1998, launched the careers of several of its cast members, most notably Jaleel White as the nerdy Steve Urkel. The remaining cast members of the series reunited for a photo session and cast reunion special with Entertainment Weekly, celebrating nearly 20 years since they’ve all been together.

The gang also gathered for an exclusive sit-down with EW, and are hinting at a possible series revival. And it appears that the cast has kept up with one another over the years.

From EW:

It’s been nearly 20 years since Reginald VelJohnson, who played Carl Winslow for nine seasons on Family Matters, had a formal reunion with his TV family.

“I love these people… Every one of them,” the famous TV dad, 65, said when he and the cast recently got together for the latest issue of EW. “I didn’t realize I was going to see everybody. … To see them now, the way they are, is wonderful. It’s heartwarming. It makes me cry.”

The show was a spin-off of another hit ABC series, Perfect Strangers, and ran for 215 episodes. At one point, it was the second-longest running series featuring an all-Black cast behind The Jeffersons.

As fans of Family Matters might know, Michelle Thomas, who played Steve Urkel’s love interest Myra Monkhouse, passed from a rare form of cancer in 1998. Orlando Brown was also a recurring cast member.
