How the mighty have fallen. Movie executive Harvey Weinstein just got fired from the company that bears his name, the Weinstein Company.

Since this occurred on a Sunday we are going to be extremely petty and point out that he got canned on his day off.

As you probably know, the New York Times dropped an expose detailing the myriad of women Harvey Weinstein has allegedly sexually harassed throughout the years. You know ish was real when instead of buckling down and claiming slander or libel, Weinstein basically said my bad and said he was getting therapy.

As for getting fired, the New York Times reports:

“In light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days, the directors of The Weinstein Company — Robert Weinstein, Lance Maerov, Richard Koenigsberg and Tarak Ben Ammar — have determined, and have informed Harvey Weinstein, that his employment with The Weinstein Company is terminated, effective immediately,” the company’s board said in a statement on Sunday night.

The New York Times reported last week that Mr. Weinstein had reached at least eight settlements over nearly three decades with women who had accused him of sexual harassment and unwanted physical contact.

This is where we must point out the privilege of being able to sexually harass women for decades and still become a big-time movie exec.

We’ll bring it up again when the inevitable “come back” goes down, too.
