Cardi B‘s strong 2017 continues on with the Bronx rapper hauling in five awards, with Kendrick Lamar just behind her with four wins, at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards. Other winners include host DJ Khaled, Jay-Z, Metro Boomin’ and more.
The official broadcast of the BET Hip Hop Awards went down last night on the network, and everyone is most certainly buzzing about Eminem’s freestyle cypher verse blasting President Donald Trump. However, Cardi’s meteoric rise has been undeniable and the awards show recognized such. Cardi’s huge “Bodak Yellow” won Single Of The Year, along with Best New Hip Hop artist honors. She also won awards for Best Mixtape for her Gangsta Bitch Vol. 2 release, Hustler Of The Year, and Made-You-Look.
Compton’s pride and joy Kendrick Lamar won Best Hip-Hop video with “HUMBLE.” and K-Dot hauled in awards for Album Of The Year for DAMN., Lyricist Of The Year, and Hot Ticket performer.
