The child rape trial of Nicki Minaj‘s brother, Jelani Maraj, is underway and a 10-year-old boy testified in court on Monday (Oct. 23) that he walked in on seeing his former stepfather undertaking his alleged sexual assault on his older sister. The boy says he knew what Maraj was doing was wrong but was threatened to keep mum about what he witnessed.

The youngster, wearing a black tuxedo and clutching a yellow star-shaped toy, bravely took the stand in Jelani Maraj’s ongoing rape trial in Nassau County Supreme Court.
He detailed what he saw in a basement bedroom in 2015 — as his family members quietly wept in the gallery.
“What happened was I was looking for [her],” the boy said, referring to his then-11-year-old sister, who has accused their stepdad Maraj of repeatedly raping her. “My pencil broke and I didn’t have any others.”
The boy added in his testimony that when he walked into the room, he saw Maraj’s underwear was around his knees and his sister’s underwear was near her ankles. The testimony was delivered with family in tow who had to hear the horrific details. The boy said that Maraj slapped him several times, and had the boy’s mother, then his wife, demand to him that he not tell anyone what he saw.
Minaj is expected to testify on her brother’s behalf, and Maraj’s defense team is alleging that the girl’s mother was attempting to extort the popular rapper and entertainer to the tune of millions.
