The Trump administration just can’t get right. Chief of Staff John Kelly recently tried to sympathize for the Confederate states’ actions during the Civil War and got promptly obliterated by actor Wendell Pierce.

During a recent appearance on Fox News, Kelly attempted to sweep the subject of slavery under the rug by saying the cause of the Civil War was “a lack of an ability to compromise.”

He was able to make an even bigger buffoon of himself when he caped for Robert E. Lee by labeling the Confederate Army General “good” and “not so good.”

Kelly dove off the deep end when he found value in a time where Black people where used as livestock. “There will be, 100 or 200 years from now, people that criticize us for what we do, and I guess they’ll tear down, you know, statues of people that we revere today. It’s just very, very dangerous and it shows you what, how much of a lack of appreciation of history and what history is.”

Actor Wendell Price to Twitter and shredded the politician for his headass comments. “While they raped my Grandmother, lynched my Uncle, broke up my family to lost history, you find honor & compromise in that, you racist, prick?”

Piece went on to defend his the by reminding his followers that there is no country for Civil War sympathizers.
