“I sport New Balance sneakers to avoid a narrow path,” spit the late, great Phife Dawg on A Tribe Called Quest’s “Buggin’ Out” back in 1991. Now, New Balance used the track from the classic The Low End Theory album for a commercial tagged to today’s (Nov. 5) New York City Marathon. 

Titled “Dear New York City” we’re not going to mention why it took so long for New Balance to use Phife’s bars in a spit. The clip has been out about month, so please forgive us for just noticing.
