Angela Rye is not playing when it comes to her security. She has filed a complaint with the LAPD claiming she has been receiving death threats since this summer.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the political pundit has been getting harassed for some time. The perp(s) contact her via her phone and social media. At first, the messages were your standard trolling attempts but things got was more serious when she hooked up with rapper/actor Common.
Rye claims the sender got very specific which caused her to take action. On August 5 she got an email saying “Yr dumb dead ass gonna be found in a river” and “Let me catch ya ass I’m put the paws on ya.”
LAPD has since obtained a search warrant to investigate the social media account in question. Additionally, the Threat Management Division is also on the case.
Let’s hope the law is able to shut this down.
