Jordan Peele‘s critically acclaimed Get Out film was a box office success built on a premise that slavery of the worst can could exist in the director’s imagined world and provided a mainstream boost to the Black cinema. In a segment filmed with Vanity Fair, Peele takes on a series of fan theories about his popular flick but dissects them using his humorous bent while also providing some behind the scenes explanations.

Jordan Peele, writer and director of “Get Out,” reads, confirms, and debunks fan theories from Reddit. Is “Get Out” just an imagined scenario of Rod the TSA Agent? What does the deer really symbolize? It the movie actually a sequel to Being John Malkovich? Jordan Peele answers these questions and points out easter eggs and secret messages you may not have noticed in the film.

In one instance, a fan went way too far into the deep end of the navel-gazing pool which prompted Peele to retort and end his comments by saying, “Man…the power of marijuana.”
