Actor, comedian, author and nationally syndicated radio DJ, Steve Harvey is set to become the first African American host of the long-running game show, Family Feud.

Replacing John O’Hurley, Harvey’s first episode as host will air tonight.

The former King of Comedy has high hopes for his tenure on the beloved game,

“I bet you there’s not a funnier game show on TV. We’ve done some pretty incredible stuff so far.”

One-hundred episodes have already been taped with Harvey at the helm and he says even though being a TV show host is a switch of lanes for him, the comedic energy flows freely on a show like Feud,

“You’re not the genius you were at home on the couch. Some of these non-genius answers I get to comment on, and they give me plenty of material.”

With almost 30 years of doing coarse comedy can Harvey keep it G-rated for the kid friendly home audience? He thinks so.

“After 26 years of being a standup, I know how to work clean. I know how to keep it in the boundaries.”

Harvey, will continue to tour with his standup act and host a nationally syndicated radio program, The Steve Harvey Morning Show.
