Man Charged With Attempted Rape Of A 13-Year-Old Girl Is Acquitted

A man in Pennsylvania is breathing a sigh of relief after a jury acquitted him of charges that he conspired to rape the 13-year-old daughter of his ex-girlfriend.

According to published reports, DeWayne Calloway was acquitted of all charges he faced for allegedly conspiring with Shana Brown, to drug, rape and impregnate her 13-year-old daughter.

A jury in Fayetteville County took less than an hour to find Calloway not guilty after he took the stand in his own defense.

Authorities state that Brown, who is unable to have more children, asked her 13-year-old daughter to carry Calloway’s child. After the child refused, authorities say that Brown gave her daughter alcohol and sleeping pills mixed in tea and soda so that Calloway could assault her.

According to the Associated Press, the girl’s mother pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy and other charges in October and agreed to testify against Calloway, her boyfriend at the time.
