Hearing in Mumia Abu-Jamal Case Set for Tuesday

Comrades of Mumia Abu Jamal are rallying supporters for a critical court decision in the City of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia)  on Tuesday, November 9th.  To begin with, at noon, there will be a mass rally at Market & 6th Streets where Mumia supporters will be demanding a new trial based on that the political prisoner’s Civil Rights have been violated.

Then at 2PM, a hearing at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit Court (601 N. Market) regarding his sentencing will be conducted, where no arguments about new evidence will not be permitted to be presented.

Having exhausted many appeals during the course of damn-near 3 decades, Mumia’s ardent contingent  express the urgency of the mass public support that the Black Panther penman needs this Tuesday in order to again avert execution.  Arguments will be presented before a 3-judge panel – at stake is whether Jamal will spend the rest of his natural life in the concentration camps of the Pennsylvania penitentiary system, or if his death-sentence will again be reinstated – so that the state of Pennsylvania can eventually murder him in cold-blood?

Recent revelations by Mumia’s defense-team uncovered more crucial evidence which they said will help further prove his innocence.  Last month, during the 8th annual ‘World Day Against The Death-Penalty’ forum in Philly, investigative reporter Linn Washington shared video footage of himself conducting forensic tests demonstrating the amount of damage done to a similar slab of sidewalk as the one Dan Faulkner was splattered on the morning of December 9th 1981.

Washington displayed the pock-marks made by similar grade bullets fired from the exact caliber gun, at about the same distance, as it was assumed that Faulkner was shot from.  This was a very important information because prosecutors claim that while the pig lay wounded on the ground, after being shot in the back, Mumia stood over him, fired 4 rounds – executioner style – yet only struck him once.  Therefore, the 3 other bullets would’ve considerably marked-up the underlying concrete.

This, along with the failure by the pigz to produce the gunpowder residue results, which are always administered to suspects who are arrested at or near the scene in murder cases, also further proves that  they tampered with the evidence.  Others with inside information state that the pigz got rid of the negative ballistic results as part of the frame-up.

Washington laid out the possibility of another man – Ken Freeman – who was a passenger in Mumia’s brother’s car when the journalist arrived at the scene where his brother was being beaten by Faulkner.  According to investigative reports, the trajectory of the bullet, which killed Faulkner, points that it was fired from the proximity of the passenger side where Freeman sat at.

Freeman was mysteriously murdered on May 13th 1985, the same day Philadelphia pigz firebombed the MOVE Organization’s home on Ossage Ave.  He was found dead in a parking-lot, handcuffed and naked with a hypodermic needle stuck in him.

Michael Schiffman, author of: “Race Against Death, Mumia Abu-Jamal:  A Black Revolutionary In White America” stated “If Freeman was indeed killed by cops, the killing was probably part of a a general vendetta of the Philadelphia cops against their ‘enemies’ and the cops killed him because they knew or suspected he had something to do with the killing of Faulkner.  The cops saw the opportunity to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.”

Mumia supporters in the Bay-area can attend a noon-time rally in Oakland, CA at 14th and Broadway on November 9th.
