Chrisette Michele Criticizes Rick Ross For Walking Out Of The Soul Train Awards

Chrisette Michelle is speaking out against her “Aston Martin Music” collaborator Rick Ross, after he walked out of last night’s Soul Train Awards.

Atlanta played home to the ceremony Wednesday that brought a bevy of celebs including Ross, who lost the award for “Best Hip-Hop” song to Eminem and stormed out angrily.

Chrisette and a number of guests were offended by Ross’ hasty exit, so the famed songstress took to her personal blog to air the Bawse out.

According to Chrisette, if Ross’ walk-out was Hip-Hop she wants no part of it.

She writes,

“If this is the way hip hop is then I denounce it.

This is not about ego. This is about what I can bring to the world. My life is for the people. I live to give…Who stands off at an award show because they don’t win? An award is winning at being as “stuck in a category” as possible.

Congratulations to all the trophy holders who won at being the most like every one else.”

She also adds that she’s praised for being different and denounces all the egos in Hip-Hop that call for bashing and venting in rhymes.

“I could have sworn hip hop was on the come up. But apparently rapping is about venting, bashing, chauvinistic pigging, and EGO. Not cool. Don’t LET me start rapping.

They say…I’m ecclectic. I’m underrated. I’m different. Well If I win an award it’s because I paved a way. Every award I’ve won was new in it’s category. You know why? Because I’m amazing at being my damn self.

Is all hip hop like that? Absolutely not! But some of it certainly is. Let me spit a few bars. I’m not that kinda hip hop. I rep hip hop too. But not that kinda ego trippin foolery.

Chrisette Michele – the girl on that Aston Martin Music record…”

…..Isn’t she just saying that Eminem is “just like everybody else”? That’s so stupid, maybe he was just better than everyone else. Also, if somebody must tell you how different they are, they probably aren’t all that different at all.

she drops her album date like 2 or 3 times during her rant, which makes it hard for me to take her seriously.

Chrisett sounds like she is attempting to Boss Ross

If Ross wants to walk-out, then Ross can well do so.

Eminem is not all that they are giving him
The Eminem facade needs to be examined and re-evaluated
I don’t know why Eminum is getting all those awards
I see a lot of weak points in that winning song

If Ross feels that he needs a breath of fresh air at that moment, then Ross needs to walk-out. Keep making good music and establishing yourself in the Award mode Model – whatever-

Chrisett spoke well and too much about her musical experience, and Chrisett music lacks depth; Chrisette music stops in the middle of the bridge. Chrisette and Ross
Collabs are the best works of Chrisette

Keep making good music and it does get better

Interestingly, the Committee makes decisions on subjective views and criteria.

Moreover, the Artist makes music for the fans and their own ideas.

Bringing both the Committee and Artist objectives and goals together is both challenging and inspiring. Both must strive for new heights and depths in musical expressions.

An age old story, music thrives and the artist moves to new horizons. Awards indicate a trade-off system while we embrace them. All industries have this system. nothing new

  • Really?

Why the hell are words that I wrote that aren’t swear words being censored? Get it together on this site.

If dont agree with Fat Ross music at all, isnt he like 40 yrs old talking about selling drugs ….get over it!! that was so 1980’s ….we need to do better ppl! why do we except such nonsense? Really? drugs ? its 2010….stop the madness!!

  • She’s absolutely right. Some of these artists really need to check their ego because they’re not that ill. Did he really think because it’s the Soul Train Awards he would win over Eminen?
