Hip-hop tycoon Master P and First Lady Michelle Obama are linking up to help tackle the epidemic of childhood obesity.

The former rapper and label owner will be hosting an event during Grammy week where he will challenge celebrities to support the first lady’s Let’s Move! campaign through his own Move Through Music organization.

Inaugurated on February 9, 2010 by First Lady Obama, Lets Move! is an initiative that has the goal of “solving the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation so that children born today will reach adulthood at a healthy weight.”

Likewise, Master P’s Move Through Music organization has the same goal of, “helping fight child obesity by educating the next generation on how to eat right and exercise through music, dance and entertainment.”

The dual event, which will also be a honoring the later singer Teena Marie, will take place on February 11 in Los Angeles and P will be rallying for celebrities to aid in the fight against poor health.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 67% adults are overweight or obese and over 33% of children/adolescents are also overweight or obese.
