Malcolm X Daughter Arrested In Madison
Malikah Shabazz, the daughter of legendary leader Malcom X, tried to protect her identity when she gave Madison County authorities the name ‘Mali Saban” as they responded to a Social Service call about the welfare of her 13-year-old daughter.
But soon after her identity was revealed, the police learned that New York authorities held outstanding warrants for her on charges including possession of stolen property, grand larceny, forgery, criminal possession of forged instruments and identity theft.
The 2009 charges against the 45-year-old may have been filed by an old family friend, according to Sean Devereux, her attorney in Asheville.
Devereux said the warrants may be interconnected with the long-running dispute between Shabazz and her sisters over their parents’ estate.
