Fefe Dobson is back to doing what she does best, singing her infectious edgy anthems and spreading Joy to her fans across the world.

The Canadian pop singer, who first burst onto the scene in 2003, was known for dominating video show countdowns with her precocious personality and stand-out voice that spawned four hit singles from her self-titled debut album.

Fast forward to 2011 and an older, wiser, Dobson is ready to give her fans a taste of what they’ve been missing.

While continuing on her promo tour, the seasoned songstress sat down with HipHopWired to speak on her latest project Joy, and upcoming tour dates.

In addition to telling HipHopWired that she feels ‘recharged’, Dobson revealed that her album sticks to her rock/pop roots, her foundation over the years.

“It’s still rock/pop. My foundation, my energy is rock and roll. I love pop music….but I love so many different artists and music, that if I woke up one day and wanted to do a country album it would still be rock because that’s my foundation. “

And although she’s known for her rock/pop hits, this International sensation also revealed that she’s infusing Hip-Hop in her album with ½ of the Clipse, Pusha T.

“He laid an amazing, awesome verse the second half…it’s so dope. He hit home really the emotion that I wanted him to. It’s a beautiful verse.”

Dobson also spoke on her relationship with fellow Canadians Drake and Justin Bieber who she’s met over the years.

According to Dobson, Canadian artists are all part of one big family.

“It’s amazing, not only is it amazing because they’re Canadian but I know Drake through the Degrassi years. We’ve bumped into each other over the years and I’m very supportive of his career. I’m very proud of him. I didn’t know Beiber until his first single came out but I feel like it’s a community and everyone knows everyone…there’s a handful of people. There’s K’Naan, there’s Nelly Furtado and so many amazing artists that are just like friendly. We’re like family.”
