Kid To Host Gospel Rap Honors Event

Rapper Christopher “Play” Martin, one half of the dynamic late ‘80s early ‘90s hip hop duo Kid N Play, will co-host this year’s 11th annual Holy Hip Hop Awards.

Held next month in downtown Atlanta, the awards ceremony was created to pay homage to variety of “gospel” hip-hop artists for their contributions through music and community service.

This year’s nominees include non-secular rhymers, Mobsters of Light, Che Che Da Supastar, Chris Chicago, Mariaha Markel, big AL, Lil La La, Mobigga, Mr. D-Note, G-Quinn and Halo & Reign.

The Higher Ground Record Pool, DJ Radikal and DJ Dex are scheduled to be present on the wheels of steel, and the event will be co-hosted by eDDie Velez.

The Holy Hip Hop Awards will take place April 17, at 595 North Event Venue & Lounge.
