Judge Ends NFL Lockout, Packers Can Now Get Super Bowl Rings

U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson ruled in favor of the NFL Players Association granting their injunction request to lift the lockout after seven weeks of limbo between the two sides.

The NFL filed a notice of appeal questioning whether Nelson exceeded her jurisdiction with her ruling.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wrote that Nelson’s ruling “may significantly alter professional football as we know it. … By blessing this negotiating tactic (recognizing the players’ right to dissolve their union), the decision may endanger one of the most popular and successful sports leagues in history.”

If the injunction continues, the NFL must be open for business, however there are no rules that have been set and the issues have not been resolved.  Judge Nelson cited that ruling for the players is likely because of their short careers and a lockout would affect them monetarily.

The Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers are definitely happy about the end of the lockout because now they can receive their rings and visit The White House, which was restricted due to league rules while the lockout was on.

Hopefully they can get the rest of the terms agreed upon and the books will open up so that the fans can get to view the sport they love.
