The Black Eyed Peas To Give Free Concert In Central Park

The Black Eyed Peas are planning to perform a free concert in Central Park on June 9th.

The concert will benefit Robin Hood Foundation, a charity organization, whose mission is to fight poverty in New York City.

54,000 free tickets will be distributed through random giveaways by registering at blackeyedpeas.robinhood.org, starting on May 11.

All concertgoers must have tickets, and VIP tickets can be purchased online.

Also, as part of the partnership with the B.E.P., Robin Hood will fund the opening of three Peapod Academies in New York over the next few years. The schools will support disadvantaged youth in NYC by teaching music and artistic education, including music engineering and mixing and video editing.

“We are thrilled to follow in the footsteps of icons such as Simon & Garfunkel and Diana Ross by performing a free concert for our fans in Central Park,” said Black Eyed Peas member Fergie. “But more importantly, we are performing to benefit Robin Hood’s efforts to help those living in poverty in New York City and to help disadvantaged youth in New York with the launch of our Peapod Academy.”

Robin Hood is also taking text and online donations. More information is available at www.robinhood.org.
