Melle Mel Launching Fitness TV Show

Rap pioneer, Melle Mel is launching a new fitness TV program scheduled to air in selected New York City markets.

Mel, former front man of the legendary hip-hop collective Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, is a well known advocated of staying physically fit as evident in the 49-year-old’s flawless physique.

In the show entitled Grandmaster Fitness with Melle Mel, the rapper will show viewers proper exercise techniques in an assortment of NYC gyms and will also feature Mel working out with celebrity guest.

“The average American used to be a strong, respectable person,” Melle Mel told The New York Daily News. “Now he’s fat and lazy and wondering when he’s going to get his next Big Mac. We need a more fit image. It’s got to be done, and I’m going to do it.”

The show is scheduled to air on BronxNet, Brooklyn’s Brick Arts Media Channel and the Manhattan Neighborhood Network.
