Eddie Long Case May Be Heading To Trial

After months of closed-door litigation between Bishop Eddie L. Long and the four men who accused him of sexual misconduct, a settlement has yet to be reached and the case could soon be headed to trial later this year.

The two parties in the scandalous case were reportedly close to reaching a settlement back in April but for reasons unknown, this fell through.

Judge Jonny Panos, the presiding judge in the case, is now preparing for a trial that could start as early as August or September.

There was no reason given for the breakdown during mediation when things seemed to be close to finalized.

The neither side in the case has commented on the recent halt in progress.

Last September, Bishop Eddie L. Long, minister of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia GA, was accused by four former members of using his influence to lure them into sexual relations.

The four men filed lawsuits against Long and his youth academy.

The Bishop denies the claims.
