An Australian newspaper is reporting that South Africa sprinter, Caster Semenya, has both male and female parts. The Australian Daily Telegraph released a report today claiming that a source told them that gender tests prove she has internal testes and no womb or ovaries. The Telegraph reported the source as saying:

“There certainly is evidence Semenya is a hermaphrodite, but the trouble is the IAAF now have the whole ANC and the whole of South Africa on their backs.”

Upon hearing the about the report, South African minister Makhenkesi Stofile accused the International Association of Athletics Federations or IAAF, of leaking her gender test results to the media. An enraged Stofile expressed his frustration over the situation saying that the 18-year old’s rights were being violated.

“It is very, very clear to us that Caster’s human rights are not being respected at all. Neither Caster nor her family deserve this kind of humiliation. None of them has done anything wrong. This is as disgusting as it is unethical.”

When asked how South Africa would respond if the runner were no longer allowed to compete in races against women, Stofile said, “I think it will be the third world war. Such a decision would be totally unfair and unjust.”

Caster is now said to be in hiding.
