Kelly Rowland’s "Motivation" #1 On Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Chart

Kelly Rowland’s “Motivation” #1 On Billboard Chart

Kelly Rowland may have finally stepped out of Beyonce’s massive shadow.

For the first time ever, the former Destiny Child’s member landed the #1 R&B/Hip-Hop song on Billboard.

The single, “Motivation,” featuring Lil Wayne debuted on the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B charts 10 weeks ago, and finally made it’s way to #1.

This is Kelly’s second #1. “When Love Takes Over” landed on top of the Hot Dance Airplay & Dance Club Songs charts in 2009, but black people weren’t really checking for Kelly’s alternative solo music, so this #1 means more now.

Who would have thought the day would have come when Kelly Rowland would have a better song than Beyonce (“Who Run The World”). Word to Harold Camping.

Kelly Rowland’s new album Here I Am (doesn’t Usher already have an album titled that?) is due later this year.

The Blacker the Berry…you know the rest! For real, I mean Kelley is talented but we all know the inner workings of the music industry is bogus. It is her time to shine and we want to see her do very well.

I love Kelly always have and I love Beyonce too don’t get me wrong but they will not let her out shine B for too long. B will preform that song every where it will be on the radio every min every where until we like it. Ask yourself how many times have you seen Kelly preform or make appearances??? We don’t even get a chance to hear her album. Fact is they don’t promote her like they do B. #imjustsayin

I am listening to it right now and it is not moving me at all. I feel that it is too plain and has been done before. The vocals are so average. I am not feeling this at all. I am very disappointed with her. I expected so much more and I got almost nothing.

I would have thought the song she did with Nelly several years ago went #1 at some point….it was constantly in rotation.

She needs 2 get wit me 4 the hottest dance/pop tracks around..
