Two of the West Coast's youngest, most talented MC's, Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q, stopped by the Peter Rosenberg show. Unlike Machine Gun Kelly's interview with Rosenberg, K.Dot and Q were able to keep level heads, as Rosenberg was a genuine fan of their music and very familiar with them as artists.

Kendrick spoke on his journey thus far and what were some of his influences. Rosenberg mentioned that he noticed some East Coast influence within K.Dot's music, which he clarified. "What's crazy is that I didn't start listening to East Coast music until DMX's first album...that's what got me writing my own music. I was 13 and will never forget it; my homeboy put that album in my hand, and I started writing raps immediately. Before that, I was straight West Coast!"

The Compton MC went on to further his East Coast pallet, expanding to Jay-Z, Biggie and Nas, shortly thereafter. He credits some of his swing, to the passing of Tupac, with whom he related to DMX. "Pac passed, then DMX came out, and I felt that same energy that Pac had in the game, so that's what made me start writing. After X, came Jay-Z, then folks told me to go back and listen to Big's stuff."

While the interview was mainly about Kendrick, and his growth in the game, Rosenberg did speak on ScHoolboy's "Hands on the Wheel" record, which influences drinking and driving, indirectly. After sharing a personal loss, at the hands of a drunken driver, Rosenberg spoke with Q about the record, and why he'd influence something so negative. Q went on to clarify that it's part of the album title Habits & Contradictions, which eased the whole misunderstanding.

It is funny how things come full circle. After parting ways with Bad Boy in 2008, then spending the last few years building his brand on the Internet, Baltimore freestyle king Los is back on the Bad Boy roster.

Diddy also recently signed young talent in French Montana and Machine Gun Kelly. The Bad Boy Records CEO said he is looking to stay with the youth movement, announcing the signing in a recent interview with MTV News.

“It's time for a whole new generation; it's time for a whole new movement. So we got [Machine Gun Kelly], French Montana, Red Café; we got Cassie. We also have a new artist named Los that we signed. It's official," Diddy told MTV's Sway Calloway.

The Baltimore native is no stranger to rocking with Mr. Ciroc. Los tried out for Diddy's Making The Band series in 2002 but opted out after making the final cut. He would later spit a 10-minute freestyle audition for an amazed Diddy who signed the young rapper to his Bad Boy label in 2006.

A legal situation with Los' then indie label would force the two parties to part ways in 2008 without him releasing an album. After spending the last few years dropping several acclaimed mixtapes, Carlos Coleman is back with Bad Boy.

"We're trying to put that young, youthful energy out in the air and do it the only way that Bad Boy [Records] can do it,” Diddy added.

That, according to Rule, includes chumming it up with imprisoned former state controller Alan Hevesi and former Tyco CEO Dennis Kozlowski. All Posts

Ja recently sat down for a jailhouse interview with New York Daily News, where he revealed the relationships he's built while in the bing. Rule said he has gotten stock tips from Kozlowski and learned about the perennial impasse in Albany from Hevesi.

“Outside, you don't meet guys like this every day. This place is amazing,” said Ja. “It's funny. We are from totally different walks of life. But when you're here, you're here,” continued the Queens rapper about his newfound friends.

A more grounded sounding Jeffery Adkins also talked about his upcoming album, Pain Is Love 2 and the circumstances under which is was made.

“I did this album in about two or three weeks, tops,” revealed the raspy voiced rapper whose seventh LP is scheduled to hit shelves February 28. “Really a special album. Back was against the wall. I really didn't have the time to do what I set out to do for the project. But it came together much better than I ever could have imagined.”

Ja Rule is scheduled to be released from prison in January 2013.

A$AP Rocky's Hip-Hop experience started while he was still in diapers, literally. His Hip-Hop fanatic parents named the popular new rapper, born Rakim Mayers, after the legendary MC, Rakim. Rocky recently sat down on ‘The Angie Martinez Show' and got a chance to meet Ra when The God pleasantly interrupted his interview.

“I'm overwhelmed right now,” gushed the Harlem upstart.

Angie went on to tell a story about a chance encounter the neophyte rapper's mother had with Rakim, back in the day, where she requested the God MC autograph young Rocky's diaper, having no paper for him to scribe his signature at the time.

“You don't remember a crazy lady running into you at the [stop] light?” questioned Rocky.

The A$AP mob boss even called his mother in the middle of the encounter so she could share in enjoying the moment.

“Don't tell me…don't tell me you are here with the God.” yelled Rocky's mom. “Rakim is the God. I am a goddess. I gave birth to a God.” explained mom dukes to her son's namesake.

Peep the videos of the gap-bridging encounter below:

Joseph Mbeh, the clothing designer who trademarked Beyoncé and Jay'z's daughter name for a clothing company, "Blue Ivy Carter NYC" has finally responded. As previously reported, Mbeh was attempting to trademark the name "Blue Ivy Carter NYC" with plans to use it for a brand new children's clothing line.

Mbeh filed an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on Jan. 11, just four days after the baby was born.

The designer states that he never intended on exploiting the name of Baby Blue but the whole concept was an idea for a business proposal he was planning to propose to The Carter's that the media got wind of early and ran with. Mbeh also reveals that prior to the pitch he discovered the name had not yet been registered and went ahead and did so to protect the concept of the proposed future fashion line on each party's behalf.

Calling the situation a huge mix-up in which the media jumped the gun, Mbeh still hopes to have the business meeting with The Carters for the proposed line and is also releasing his rights to the trademark.

Peep Joseph Mbeh's statement below:

First of all, congratulations to Jay-Z and Beyonce on the birth of their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. So much has been written about our recent trademark application for the mark ‘Blue Ivy Carter NYC' that I'm here to share what our intention was in applying for a fashion trademark on the name Blue Ivy Carter NYC.

But first let me properly introduce you to our firm, Intricate Concepts, which I co-founded in 2001. We are artists, entrepreneurs, and a one-stop creative clearinghouse who has been at the forefront of trending fashion designing lines for brands like DKNY, Sean John, Phat Farm and Timberland to name a few.

In fact, much of the clothing that you've worn in the last decade reflects our clients' brand as designed by our firm. We recently launched our own flagship brand, FOURFRONT1602 (FourFront1602.com).

Prior to the birth of The Carters' daughter, my team and I were in the process of designing a children's collection. The designs were there, but we hadn't selected a brand yet to associate with. We wanted the line to exemplify beauty, innocence, power, and spirituality and decided to create, pitch, and ultimately present the idea to The Carters in hopes that a business relationship could be formed to create Blue Ivy Carter NYC for them.

Upon exploration, we were surprised to discover that the mark had not yet been registered and chose to register the name to protect the concept of a future fashion line on their behalf. To protect the idea, we registered the name and started creating samples, which would have been presented The Carters at our pitch meeting.

Given our history and the mark we've made as fashion trendsetters, we wanted to create and present a complete idea to The Carters that would uphold the integrity of their collective brands.

For the record, we did not reach out to the media or send out any press releases because the ideas had not fully designed or solidified yet. What happened was that the media found out about the trademark and decided to spin their own story. Most just copied the information from one source and ran with it without fact-checking or even contacting our office to get clarification.

We chose not to comment immediately because we still did not have a co-sign from The Carters on the idea. In 3 days, the media ran with a story that misrepresented me and made it seem as if I was an un-experienced intern and suggested that our intent was to exploit Blue Ivy Carter. Since the media misconstrued our intentions, we have chosen to respond by first revealing our intentions and secondly by releasing our rights to the trademark.

We respect and admire The Carters and would not misrepresent our intentions towards them. Our objective is to foster a creative relationship with them, not destroy a potential one.

We‘ve made millions for our clients, and have established our firm as a design powerhouse. Hopefully this will help to share a little about our company, represent our true objectives, and result in a creative partnership with The Carters. Together we can redesign the world of children's fashion!
