Musically, the Boys were something of a melting pot–fusing various elements of sound within a rap landscape. But what the Beastie Boys also provided was a reference point in streetwear, where urban-inspired threads spoke to the time period in music. If you check the current wardrobes of some of your favorite rappers today, you'll find a lot of repeats from styles the Beasties already tested and approved.

The Crazy Light 2 utilizezSprintframe and Sprintweb tech, the latter providing more horizontal and vertical support for the foot. While playing in these kicks there was never any question of its ankle support and they felt very solid underfoot despite its ridiculously light weight. It's easy to see why both fleet footed guard and big men that have already worn the kicks in the NCAA tournament and high school all-star games. "I do have a shoe coming out soon but it won't be Trukfit," Weezy told VIBE. "I have shoe with a well-known company. I just don't want to say yet because Ihaven't dotted the line yet. But it's done."

The "How To Love" rapper/singer said that said company is not Nike or Reebok, but when asked if it may be Supra, he gave a cryptic answer of "Uh-oh. Watch out."

Don't rule out adidas, which Weezy has been seen rocking, too.

After helping launch the Originals 2011 Adidas Boot Collection, Kendrick Lamar headlined a showcase of young rising stars call Respect the West.  Each of the featured artists is making a fair share of noise in the industry and simultaneously playing a huge part in West Coast Hip-Hop's' resurgence.

The showcase originated two years ago at the SXSW Musicfest in Austin, Texas, via Adidas Originals & the Cashmere Agency.  Since its creation, the showcase has grown exponentially and played host to the likes of: MURS, Warren G, DJ Quik, Tha Dogg Pound, Mistah F.A.B. and Snoop Dogg, as well as up and comers Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Pac Div.  

In addition to this showcase, several of these young artists are currently candidates for XXL's 2012 Freshmen Class, which is a testament to their hard work and dedication.   Here's a video recap of this year's showcase.

Snoop Dogg is continuing his branding stampede pairing with Adidas to release a new sneaker.  Snoop rocked a pair at his "Purp & Yellow" video shoot and told DJ Skee, "They coming out real soon for NBA All-Star weekend. Be sure to get you a pair of them."

Snoop is very familiar with using his name and likeness to sell products, the Long Beach native released a shoe line with Pony in 2005 called Doggy Biscuitz and partnered with TomTom a few years ago lending his smooth vocals and slang to their GPS system for automobiles.

Sneakerfiles.com posted pics of the black, purple and yellow footwear, they will be available on February 11th.
