It is funny how things come full circle. After parting ways with Bad Boy in 2008, then spending the last few years building his brand on the Internet, Baltimore freestyle king Los is back on the Bad Boy roster.

Diddy also recently signed young talent in French Montana and Machine Gun Kelly. The Bad Boy Records CEO said he is looking to stay with the youth movement, announcing the signing in a recent interview with MTV News.

“It's time for a whole new generation; it's time for a whole new movement. So we got [Machine Gun Kelly], French Montana, Red Café; we got Cassie. We also have a new artist named Los that we signed. It's official," Diddy told MTV's Sway Calloway.

The Baltimore native is no stranger to rocking with Mr. Ciroc. Los tried out for Diddy's Making The Band series in 2002 but opted out after making the final cut. He would later spit a 10-minute freestyle audition for an amazed Diddy who signed the young rapper to his Bad Boy label in 2006.

A legal situation with Los' then indie label would force the two parties to part ways in 2008 without him releasing an album. After spending the last few years dropping several acclaimed mixtapes, Carlos Coleman is back with Bad Boy.

"We're trying to put that young, youthful energy out in the air and do it the only way that Bad Boy [Records] can do it,” Diddy added.

New York-bred rapper French Montana is explaining the motivation behind choosing Sean "Diddy" Combs' Bad Boy Records over Kanye West and his G.O.O.D. Music label. The Moroccan-born artist was embroiled in an alleged bidding war between the two labels, and told Hot 97's Angie Martinez, that his decision to go with Diddy over Chicago's finest came down to Yeezy's lack of availability.

"Kanye doesn't have a phone," he said. According to Montana, he met with Yeezy twice but things just didn't pan out correctly. "If you need to get in contact with Kanye, you have to email him. You can't tell me how to do that. I don't know how to use an email, so I guess me and you is never gonna talk, and I'ma put my career in your hands? He's definitely talented and I felt like if I went there, we would have definitely made history."

On the flip side, Montana's professional connection with Diddy appeared to be a better bet. Unlike his experience with West, Montana praised Diddy's ability to deliver on his words. "When I met up with Puff, everything he promised me came through," he said.

In lieu of a failed deal with Akon's Konvict Music imprint, and legal red tape brought on by the incarceration of his friend Max B, roadblocks have done little to hinder French's grind. The Cocaine City Records founder is known for consistently flooding the streets with new material, starting with his Cocaine City DVDs, which he began releasing in 2002, and dropping more than a dozen mixtapes since 2007.

Now that he's got his label residency under control, the 27-year-old is working on his Bad Boy debut Pardon My French, which will be executive produced by Diddy and Rick Ross, but has yet to reveal a release date for the project.

Yung Joc & Block Enterprises Sued Over Copyright Infringement & Breach Of Contract

Yung Joc has been quiet the last few years mostly due to his paperwork and contracts disputes with his former labels, Block Enterprises and Bad Boy Records.

Now another company is throwing a monkey wrench into his game.

An Atlanta music company called Master Mind Music filed a lawsuit against Yung Joc and Block Enterprises in United States District Court, Northern District of Georgia on January 17. AllHipHop reports that the lawsuit claims that Yung Joc allegedly signed an artist development and exclusive recording agreement with Master Mind Music in February of 2005. Under the deal, each record that was created by the rapper during the duration of the deal, was to be the property of Master Mind Music.

Master Mind Music contends it also reserved the exclusive right to copyright the recordings of Yung Joc in its own name. The lawsuit also states that Master Mind was entitled to co-ownership of all of Yung Joc recordings, in addition to a 50% share of Yung Joc's publishing during the term of the agreement.

According to the suit, Block Entertainment made a deal with Bad Boy/Atlantic under false pretenses that they held the exclusive rights to Joc thus cutting Master Mind Music out of the deal.

“Block knew or should have known that he did not have the rights to the artists' exclusive recording services which he purportedly granted to Bad Boy/Atlantic,” the complaint reads. “Further, Block never subsequently acquired those rights from Master Mind.”

Master Mind Music is suing for copyright infringement, breach of contract, torturous interference with contractual relations, fraudulent misrepresentation, and fraud.

Good luck with that one.... Something tells me that money is long gone.

French Montana Talks Bad Boy Signing, Almost Linking With Kanye West

French Montana, the Moroccan-born, New York-raised rhyme slinger, believes he's poised to make millions after signing a much hyped deal with Sean “Diddy” Combs' Bad Boy Records. After a botched deal with Akon's Konvict Music imprint and the legal troubles of running partner Max B, the self-proclaimed “Mac With Da Cheese” has unwavering confidence in his ability to make a splash in the game.

French's legendary grind is well documented. Slinging his popular Cocaine City DVDs on the New York streets (and beyond) since 2002, it took some time for the Coke Boys chieftain to get on, although he's been connected with some of the heaviest hitters in the game. In a detailed and candid interview with HipHopDX, French displayed his allegiance to Diddy and Bad Boy, and also revealed Kanye West was set to sign him before he inked his deal last month.

“[Diddy] is a billionaire. Let me brush shoulders up with a billionaire. Let me make a quick 300-500 million. If you're smart enough, you might make more than that. I don't look at Puff as a rapper. I look at him as a brand. He's gonna guide me in the right way, let me know where the money's at,” said French of his working with Diddy. When pressed on the nature of he and Diddy's working partnership, French replied, “I think me and Diddy got a different relationship, you know. I think me and him got a different relationship.”

French Montana also spoke briefly about nearly signing with Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music imprint just before his Bad Boy deal. “[H]e was trying to sign me. Every label was trying to sign me before I got with Puff. So that goes to tell you that I was really comfortable with what he had on the table for me.”

French Montana's Bad Boy debut, Pardon My French, is currently in the works. He recently recorded a pair of mixtapes with down south mainstays Three 6 Mafia and a joint mixtape with Waka Flocka Flame.

French Montana Speaks On The Bad Boy Deal With DJ Envy on Hip Hop Nation

French Montana was one of the most sought after rappers of 2011. It seemed as though French was signing, or aligning himself with a new label each week. Once thought to be joining forces with either G.O.O.D. Music or MMG, French signed with Bad Boy.

Depending on how you look at it, Diddy's track record with his artists is either impeccable (Record Sales), or one of the worst you've ever seen (Career Length). With such extremes on both the positive and negative side, why would French choose to ride with Diddy? See for yourself...

A former Bad Boy records affiliate is facing jail time after being arrested on drug charges.

Loon, real name Chauncey Hawkins, was reportedly arrested in Brussels on heroin trafficking charges this week.

According to paper The Parlamento, officials used the 'Patriot Act' to extradite the rapper who previously converted to Islam and lived in Algeria with his family.

On November 22 however, he was extradited while on his way to give a lecture.

There are reports that the rapper was being watched by the DEA from 2006-2008.

Reps for Loon have yet to release a statement on the charges.

The Failed and Short-Lived Careers Of Bad Boy Records

The Hip-Hop blogosphere got an unexpected surprise when 21-year-old rapper Machine Gun Kelly announced his signing with Sean "Diddy" Combs, Bad Boy and Interscope this morning.

While we want to congratulate Young MGK on his new deal, we hope the Cleveland newcomer and his EST crew thought this move through.

On one had, Bad Boy is one of the most storied and successful labels in music, but on the other, Sean Combs has left a trail of artists broke, forgotten or dead, while he Diddy-bopped his way to the top.

Here's a look at The Failed and Short-Lived Careers Of Bad Boy Records.
