MURS Talks "Fight Night"
MURS was in L.A. recently prepping for the annual Paid Dues Festival and sharing his thoughts on EA SPORTS ‘Fight Night Champion' video game.

The rapper who's also preparing to release his latest project “Melrose” with Terrace Martin, spoke with Cashmere about his track “The Problem Is” featuring Sick Jacken (produced by 9th Wonder) being featured on the video game's soundtrack.

Speaking on the high energy up-tempo hit he says,

"The song has this energy, that makes you want to punch someone in the face.”

Being the huge gamer that he is, MURS had a few challenges for all other rappers, especially British star Tinie Tempah (who recently challenged MURS to a game and promised to knock him out in two rounds).

In addition to MURS and 9^th Wonder, EA SPORTS “Fight Night” features a Hip-Hop infused soundtrack with music from Aloe Blacc, Black Milk, Chiddy Bang, N.E.R.D., The Roots, and British sensation Tinie Tempah.

The exclusive soundtrack will only be available in the game when it hits stores March 1, 2011 in Europe and the U.S.

The newest edition in the “Fight Night” series allows users to battle as contender Andre Bishop in an all new story-based Champion Mode or as one of more than 50 legends and future champions including Manny Pacquiao, Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.

In addition to the bevy of boxers users can choose from, “Fight Night” features a Hip-Hop infused soundtrack with music from Aloe Blacc, Black Milk, Chiddy Bang, Murs & 9th Wonder, N.E.R.D., The Roots, and British sensation Tinie Tempah.

The exclusive soundtrack will only be available in the game when it hits stores March 1, 2011 in Europe and the U.S.

“Sky's the limit…I got two more projects I'm working on, officially, then Imma take some Sean time off, improve as a man.” 

Sean Price, ½ of Heltah Skeltah and a member of the Boot Camp Clik, is a rapper that has managed to maintain and keep himself within Hip Hop.

With over 15 years in the game, Price has been able to achieve many accolades and has been well respected for his lyrical abilities.

The music and the respect, however, may not be worth it all as participation in the rap game has placed a hold on his personal life and his family.

During an interview with Puna.nl, Price spoke on the price of the game and how he might need to take a step back for a little and re-evaluate what matters. 

“I was really analyzing my life and it's like: I have kids, I have a family and it's kinda like I love my music more than anything else and it should be the other way around.  It's supposed to be.  I think after these two albums, Imma sit back and reflect and do some Sean time.  That's what's next, improving as a man.  Forget the Hip Hop and whatever, I think that's my next step.”

Price admits that music has overwhelmed his life as he has lost sight of his loved ones and needs to gain more clarity to what is truly important to him.

“I do this to take care of them, but I think I love the music more than I do my family, actually maybe more than God.  That's why I need to really sit back and take time for myself and get my life together.”

The two upcoming projects coming from P is a collaborative effort between Price, Black Milk and Guilty Simpson, although no title or release date has been released as of yet. 

On the solo tip, P released the mixtape Kimbo Price: A Prelude to Mic Tyson, which as the title entails, is the calm before the storm for his next project Mic Tyson which he has described as being ignorance at its finest, a term he has used since his 2005 debut Monkey Barz. 

 “I say a lot of things that are wild and when you know something is wrong, but you actually enjoy it and embrace it and say it, that's ignorance, but I do it so well.  It makes for great music, hence the term ignorance at its finest.” 

With two left in the tank, Price is sure to deliver and leave something worthwhile.  As most know, but refuse to say, ignorance is bliss.
