Joe Budden - "Spring Training"

No clue when this Joe Budden and Royce Da 5'9'' vs. Canibus beef started, but this song is clearly a Canibus diss.

Canibus' "Lyrical Law Vs. Joey Cupcakes" diss song aimed at Budden and Royce was released earlier today.

Check both tracks out, and let us know which diss record you think is the best?

"Spring Training" is also set to appear on Budden's upcoming Mood Muzik 4.5 album.

Canibus Ft. Born Sun "Lyrical Law Vs. Joey Cupcakes"

Canibus is back with an attack on Joe Budden and Royce The 5'9" on this interesting record where he compares them to moist butt wipes.

Royce already responded via Twitter and his message makes a comeback seem highly unlikely, "Dear Canibus.. ZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZzz."

Check out the dart tossed at the Slaughterhouse members.

Battle MC, Canibus, has been off of the radar in the industry for a while, but after a three year hiatus, he is remerging with his new album Melatonin Magik, which was released this month.

Rumor has it that his lead single “Only Slaves D.R.E.A.M” is a lyrical jab at Hip-Hop veteran KRS-One, for remarks he made about the 1998 lyrical beef between Canibus and LL Cool J on the Beef II DVD.

“LL Cool J is a lyrical icon,” KRS-One said. “ You don't come out of your mouth asking to borrow nothing, you need to be happy just to be on the record.”

I'm all for creativity and battles, but it seems as if Canibus is reaching if this is the case. The battle was over 10 years ago and the Beef DVD was over 5 years ago. Really Canibus needs to let go and take the battle for what it was, experience.

[Peep the track and and lyrics and let us know if you think he is dissing KRS-One or not after the jump.] [More]

“How many emcees must get dissed, before somebody whispers don't f**k with Bis (this is a jacked lyric from one of KRS-One's old songs) /My Survival Skills surpass Kris, watch this / You got a rap for every emcee? GO GET IT THEN /Why you d*ck ride Def Jam, they not your friend / Make your mind up, I thought you was not with them / F***ing comedy, speaking on flawed philosophy /

You'll never give props to Keith Or Canibus for Undergods release / Go right ahead, dismiss it / We ain't submissive, we spit lyrical lyrics / I got the right to live off it, I live it And I'mma voice my opinion, can't nobody make me think different / My spirit feels like it's in a prison / I speak on the music conspiracy but nobody wanna listen.”

Royce Da 5'9” is clearly a rapper that delivers on his promises. When he announced the release of Bar Exam 3, he issued a warning to those that had foul words for him or his crew. Starting with his own rendition of “Back By Popular Demand”, the time for revenge is now at he sets his sights first on Benzino and Canibus.

Benzino recently had some words about Slaughterhouse making the statement that the group was overrated and that Made Men would basically lay waste to them in a rap battle. He even took is as far as releasing the diss record “Good Fellaz” going at the group along with his former nemesis Eminem dropping line such as:

“I can't be vibin' with them n*ggas, that's a dead issue/ He wasn't so official ‘til I started f*cking with you/ Too overated, what I'm saying might be fraud to them/ They bring that bacon to my house I have to Slaughter ‘em.”

Nickel also stepped in for his friend Eminem with some jabs to Canibus who recently threw some shots at Shady with “Air Strike”.

With two down, who else will have crosshairs aimed at their bodies for Nickel to pull the trigger on?

Reported earlier last week, rapper Canibus marked his solo return to the game by issuing shots at his former rap adversary Eminem. Teaming up with rapper DZK, Bis unleashed an “Air Strike” onto the Detroit native unexpectedly.

Surprise also came from Hip Hop heads as the attack seemed to come out of nowhere. Even though they had their issues back in 1999, before Slim Shady became mainstreams, a lot has changed in both of their careers.

Such a diss would bring many to question the validity of the upcoming beef and whether the rapper was just trying to find a means to promote himself and his upcoming project, Melatonin Magik, or if he was really still sour about the past.

West Coast rapper Ras Kass is one that is very familiar with beef and spoke on the recent “situation” between Canibus and Eminem. During an interview with Gamertag Radio, the rapper, above all else, was confused on the timing from Bis.

“But it came outta nowhere. My personal opinion, I love Eminem just as much as I love Canibus, I do no favoritism in that and I do respect both of them and their talents, immensely. I just think, me personally, if somebody went at you, there's an art of war. In the art of war, this is kind of late to go after him. Maybe he has a plan and as far as battles and all that, then so be it.”

Kass also added that as time progresses, a person must find a way to just let go of the past and move on instead of dwelling on what was. Until something new brews, there is no point in picking a fight. Channeling into his past grievances with Game, he added that they are just that, the past, and a new battle could only happen if something were to happen in the present.

“Me, personally, like is aid, I love Eminem and I love Canibus, I would have went at Em sooner than now if dude said certain things about me—because some things you gotta let go and it's the past. I don't get along with Game, I'm not gonna make a song about him today. It's dead, unless we have some new issue.”

In related news, the rapper recently released The Quarterly , a project that would show Kass comprising a project with a song a week, which is similar to Crooked I's Hip Hop Weekly. Features for the project, which released on November 23, consist of Killah Priest, Mistah F.A.B. and others.

"Pop Killer"

It looks like old wounds heal slow as Canibus has set his sights back on Eminem to release another diss track at the Detroit native.

Rumored to be titled “Pop Killer," the rapper, alongside another rapper known as DZK, digs up the past beef as he goes in on Mr. Mathers.

“I'ma fry you on behalf of Mariah and Michael, put you back on dem drugs, make you suicidal. You can't shut the record down, n*gga it's viral.”

For those that don't know the history, beef between the two reportedly started back in 1998 before Shady was even signed. Em states that he was approached by Canibus and Wyclef Jean and was asked if he wrote the lyrics to LL Cool J's diss track “The Ripper Strikes Back” which he denied, but added that Bus was rude with him.

Bus later tried to apologize for the incident by showing up at the Warped Tour in 1999 and asked him to rap along with him on the track “Phuck U," but Shady turned it down, allegedly because he felt the track was a diss to Cool J.

Shots were allegedly fired initially on The Slim Shady LP and escalated once Canibus did his own version of “Stan” from The Marshall Mathers LP where he saved the life of the title character. The two continued to spar with each other up to 2002.

“He's a devil in a red dress on MTV. He signed more Black people than a basketball team. What you tryna say subconsciously, you can't ride the beat like me. Consciously, you know I'll rock you to sleep. Slim Shady, you a coward cause you scared to rap with me. The only Black man you respect is 50. And the greatest rapper of all time was dead right and dead wrong, you shouldn't even have been on that song.”

Artists such as Royce Da 5'9” have started to weigh in on the attempt by the rapper to wage war once again.

RT@dopeboySHAKE: ‘I'll be brief and let me just keep sh*t simple, can-a-b*tch don't want no beef with slim? Noooo'

Wherever the random diss came from, only Bis knows, but Em is one with quite the track record with battle rap. “Warning” shows that he isn't afraid to throw a woman under the bus and his relentless references to his former wife Kim shows that he knows no bounds and can see no boundaries.

Engaging countless battles in his career ranging from Everlast to Cage to Ja Rule to Jermaine Dupri, the white rapper has earned his stripes in the battlefield. Good luck.

“I remember the first time we met, I ain't even like you. Walking around my video set like you was in high school. It must excite you seeing Black people being tribal. That's why Dr. Dre signed you.”

“Turn off the beat man, turn off the beat.”

Canibus is a rapper whose career never catapulted to where it should have gone due to his inability to fully embrace and utilize his talent.

Recently, he had some words for Invasion Radio when they asked him to freestyle alongside his Undergod partner, Keith Murray. After Murray shredded through an instrumental and set up the alley for the rapper, Canibus declined.

The mood seemed to change after the DJ jokingly stated that she had a hot 16 to kick.

“Yo don't disrespect and say you have 16 bars. That's what I'm saying man. You have to have respect for men who rock rhymes all day and all night. It's a game to you. I've been vocaling and doing shows for four weeks, then I come up here and just look at me like, ‘Yo, spit somethin'.”

Going on somewhat of a diva tirade, the rapper added that rapping is up to the rapper and no one can just force a rapper to drop some bars just because they want to hear them.

“If anybody wanna rhyme, we just rhyme and if we don't wanna rhyme, we don't rhyme. You can't push one way or the other, you have to just chill too.”

He also spoke on how he has bled himself dry for the craft and for the fans and has not been able to hold anything for himself.

“I give Hip-Hop everything and don't keep nothing to myself.”

Talk about a way to throw off his own promotion, the rapper that once feuded with LL Cool J has been off the radar for quite some time so the world of Hip-Hop has high expectations. It only makes sense to give listeners just a sample outside of the upcoming album.

It's not like they were trying to get him to tap dance in Black face or anything.

To say fame got to his head would be inaccurate, solely based on the fact that he was never THAT big in the mainstream and essentially faded into obscurity. The talent is there, without a doubt, but he has lacked the willingness to push himself over the bar when opportunity presents itself.

A person only has so many chances.
