Round 3: Freeway Ricky Ross vs William Roberts...The Name Battle Continues

It appears that the fight over the name Rick Ross is far from over as the "Real" Rick Ross is not laying down and letting the rapper steal his name.

The former drug dealer's camp released the following statement:

Ding,ding ding!!!!!

Hip-Hop fans its 'back for round three. Freeway Ricky Ross is back at it again, but with added force to his legal team. As of November 29 Freeway Ricky Ross and his legal team has been concentrating on clearing up the error of miscarrying justice. Many fans and viewers are under the impression that Freeway Ricky Ross, has lost the case of trademarking his name.

To set the record straight and clear the air Freeway Ricky Ross will hold a live Ustream broadcast from his social networking website www.freewayenterprise.com and will take live calls or questions from only personnel that are currently members of his website. This broadcasting will take place 2 December Thursday at 6pm Pacific time.

During this live broadcast he will discuss more details regarding to why the first dismissal took place and why the Judge only talked about his former pass on being a drug trafficker as if he didn't have a life before his conviction. This certainly not the case, as The Real Ricky Ross will let you know.

Donnell Ross, better known as “Freeway” Ricky Ross, is one of those rare figures whose experience as a drug trafficker has lead him to a life of rebuilding the community in which he once helped destroy. Now, with a passion for helping the youth, Ross has been given a second chance to uplift his community by giving back through mentoring and sharing his story. He plans to inspire many of today's youths to achieve their greatest successes without following in his footsteps.

To the contrary many fans believe, the rapper William Roberts is aimed at destroying the new life that " The Real Rick Ross" is trying to re-build through rapping and promoting his past. While The Real Rick Ross was incarcerated he reached out the rapper William Roberts as a symbolism of love in an effort to maybe show some love even after stealing the his name, persona and former lifestyle. Real Rick Ross stated to William Roberts " you are a talented artist that makes marketable music why not use your own name" As The R To the present date he has yet to even show some type of gratitude to the man that he considers himself to be.

We have come to know this as "SWAG-JACKIN'" , at least that is what is it coined in the hip-hop community. To set the record straight " The Real Ricky Ross" is not looking for free-bees or a hand out. Everything that he gets, he rightfully earns- legally.

Here is what the Judge did not hear:

A lot of the projects that Rick is focusing on is charity work ,but he believes the rewards of success are far greater than any monetary value he could ever receive. He has successfully started Freeway Enterprises, which has several different entities including a record label. The Real Rick Ross understands that the hip hop community has a strong voice, and he is making major strides in his area. However, to everyone's dismay, there has been no acknowledgment or offer to help developed artist by the rapper; William Roberts who stated out of his own mouth that he would be there to help The Real Rick in any way that he could.

The rapper William Roberts only only raps about his perception of what a drug dealer is. He glorifies a past that the Real Rick Ross is trying to steer away from. This praising of the Real Rick Ross past is tainting the positive movement he is now empowering.

It is clear that the rapper William Roberts is only concerned about Rick's past crime life, not the bright future that lies ahead. I guess that he feels only violence and crime sells records. The Real Rick Ross begs to differ. Many fans wants answers why haven't the rapper not reached out and donated a small monetary amount of time and money to any of the local Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, HIP -HOP Detox, or the Nation of Islam where Rick dedicates his time to?

If this is a showmanship of gratitude, I would hate to see an act of ungratefulness. The rapper William Roberts better get his stamina together, because The Real Rick Ross and his legal team are not giving up without a fight. If the rapper William Roberts has done his homework, he is sure to find that The Real Ricky Ross is a true BOSS and definitely is not one to quit in a battle. His fans are firm believers that The REAL RICKY ROSS has five stones left to throw, Stay tuned in for the latest and check out his social network www.freewayenterprise.com and www.freewayrick.com.

Rick Ross may have $300,000 less in his bank account , but the Maybach Music CEO told MTV he's not tripping.

"I've been fighting a $4 million lawsuit for the last two years," Ross said. "My defense was a success. I've got to salute Xavier Donaldson, my attorney.

Whenever an artist or anybody is put in a position such as a lawsuit in this capacity, so much evidence is represented — videotapes, what have you.

To be able to walk out of a courtroom giving the plaintiff less than 10 percent of what he requested, I consider my defense a success. God bless America! The lawsuit is done. Even though I plan to appeal the decision, I thank the courts for the monetary decision that they made. They were extremely lenient, I appreciate that. It's back to the business for the Boss."

As previously reported, the U.S. District Federal Court in New York awarded DJ Vlad $250,000 in punitive damages and $50,000 in compensatory damages against Ross after an altercation in 2008 involving Vlad and Ross' Triple C's group.

Vlad alleged that Ross orchestrated an attack that left him with a broken eye socket, a broken nose, nerve damage to his face, cheek, upper lip, teeth and gums after he posted images of Ross dressed in a correctional officer's uniform on his Web site.

On Thursday, Ross told MTV News that he's putting the lawsuit behind him and focusing on the June 29 release of his LP, Teflon Don.

Although the amount he is scheduled to pay is not chump change, Ross stated that he was happy to have the case resolved finally.

"It's a couple of papers, but it was a two-year-long case," Ross said in the interview. "After court expenses, etc., the plaintiff may get $40 or 50K. I'm blessed to be in the situation I'm in. 4 mil was at stake. It's behind me."

If Ross is happy, Vlad is ecstatic. On Friday (April 16) he tweeted his reaction about the judgment stating:

"Today is a great day" on Friday morning.

Although Vlad has not released a formal reaction, his attorney, Brian D. Caplan stated that the verdict shows that terroristic behavior will not be tolerated, even by celebrities:

"There is no place in civilized society for members of the media to have to fear retribution for their news coverage and commentary.”

Caplan stated, “The jury awarded Mr. Lyubovny $250,000 in punitive damages against Rick Ross to send a message that such conduct will not be tolerated or condoned."

Man, I hope they don't see the video of Triple C's member Gunplay snorting an 8-ball, t hat would really look bad.

When I picked up Custom Cars &Cycles, I did not have too high of an expectation and with that mentality I was both a little surprised and a little more disappointed than I thought I'd be. I was surprised that I had gained a new found respect for Ross's flow and the delivery of his punchlines. However, I have a feeling this was only because of the company that Ross keeps on this album and the horrible sh*t that comes out of their mouth. So let's go in depth of exactly how bad Ross's gang “Triple C's” actually was.

One thing that is hard to argue is missing from this album is some banging production. Even if one of the Boss's no named rappers (Gunplay, Torch and Young Breed) came in and ruined the song, I constantly had my head bobbing the whole time. The CD starts off with “Custom Cars and Clips,” which is generally more of a production showcase and a word play showcase for Ricky. Beats like these pretty much dominate the whole project with heavy drums and a “G” feel to it which supports Ross very well.

In the song “White Sand,” you get that heavy slow beat with Ross rapping about coke and whatever drug he is still pretending that he sold with a very annoying hook that drags on forever. You get to hear some of the Triple C's crew and immediately decide whether you can mess with them or you can't. (I couldn't). To me, they just sound like any rapper I could grab from the streets and put a nice beat over, they were nothing special to me. That feeling stayed with me for the next couple of songs as I sat there almost bored listening to them.

It isn't until “Trickin Off” that I feel Triple C's did a decent job at what they should have been doing the whole album. However, this isn't because they all of a sudden learned to rap, it's because they merely started to rap like the guest appearances that were on the tracks. With Gucci Mane (who you cannot avoid hearing if you wanted to try!) appearing on this cut, most of the gang decided that if they rapped like Gucci then the track would sound fine! Even though that wasn't the case, I must admit it was a hell of a lot better than what they were doing before. They continue that same mind set throughout the next couple of songs and even have a couple good lines in “Erryday” with Jeezy.

“Everyday a n*gga wanna kill me, beefing everyday/ So we creep, that's everyday, 40 deep that's everyday, all black T's and we wear them bit*hes everyday!” - Rick Ross

The wax keeps spinning and my feelings still feel the same way they did in the beginning. It is almost a sigh of relief when I hear Ross come back in to rap, and be the only one able to stay on beat. However, there were a couple tracks that caught my attention like “Gangsta Sh*t,” which features The Game (Or just “Game” whatever he wants to be called now). Every time Game gets on a track, I feel that he brings a gangsta feel to any song while incorporating that west coast flow which a lot of us don't hear much anymore unless you out in Cali. By this point in the CD I'm not sure whether it's because I am comparing him to his gang or not, but Ross is really starting to win me over. Even if everything he is rapping about is a complete lie, that doesn't take away how it sounds.

“Teflon fit well in my car door/ I invest in stocks, black Wall Street shell holders, pressing blocks/ Breaking down to ounces amongst all our counselers/ Black Bilderberg is how you announce us.” – Rick Ross

The album continues with a load of special features that I have a feeling that Ross intentionally wanted. Some of these features include Mack-10, Birdman, Bun B, and Yo Gotti. On top of the artists I have already mentioned, this album has a featured artist in every 2 out of 3 songs. I am sure that Ross did this to maintain interest in the album for the listeners in case Triple C couldn't (Which they didn't).

I always feel that if you have a lot of features on your album, you feel that you need a lot of different fans to listen or feel incapable of holding 16 tracks on your own. However, for this album because Triple C's don't have a huge fan base and it is their first album, I understand why they feel they would need a lot of featured artists.

As the album ends, we get a couple of dope tracks with the help of features like Masspike Miles and Yo Gotti. However, there isn't really any particular lines that you'll be thinking about all day or emotional connections you have with the song. Here's my word of advice: there only two ways I would tell you to buy this album.

1. If you can care less about what rappers are lyrically saying and just like bumpin' ** beats that will get your head bobbing.

2. If you're a genuine Rick Ross fan and don't care who is on a track with him but just care about what Ricky is doing himself.

This album may come off as atrocious the way I am reviewing but it does have some good items. The production is pretty dope as those beats go hard as hell. Also, Ross still proves that he's not one to take lightly on the mic. Nonetheless, for an album that has supposedly been in the making for years now; it seems that Ross brought in great production and a lot of special guests to almost distract us from mediocre flow you are forced to listen to from his entourage.

Feel free to disagree but I'm just being real.

The rumor mill has been abuzz with talks of Birdman and Rick Ross collaborating on a joint album. Now the smoke is clearing and the project is coming to fruition. While Birdman continues on his ongoing promo tour, the Bawse is continuing to have his temper tested.

As previously reported, 50 Cent took shots at the Boss Hog and proverbially dissed his Carol City rap crew, Triple C's. Shaking off the beef and getting back to the money, Baby and Ricky have confirmed that a joint collaboration between them is complete.

In an interview with Rap-Up, the patriarch of the Williams name told the magazine that the album titled The H was indeed a done deal.

“Ross and I finished the album already. It's called The H. We'll probably put it out in the summer.”

While he didn't divulge details on the production, he did give props to his new album mate.

“I respect Ross. He gets money and his music is hot.”

In the meantime Baby's latest project, Pricele$$, hits stores November 23.

Is anyone excited to hear this Birdman/ Ricky Ross album?

No? Didn't think so...

“His little boy is having hearing problems and he doesn't have healthcare!”

50 Cent's ongoing battle with Rick Ross is never ending. He's tried his best to embarrass and discredit the Bawse, posing with Ross's baby momma for risqué photo shoots and helping her throw dirt on his name. Now while promoting his new album, Before I Self Destruct, Fif is dissing him…again. 50 posted a video on his Thisis50 website of a radio interview at 102 Jamz in North Carolina.

The G-Unit leader was having a contest to,see if callers could name all four members of Ross's new group, Triple C's. If the callers answered correctly, 50 would give them tickets to a football game. Needless to say, it was an epic fail but made for great laughs.

Confused callers kept calling in dumbfounded while Fif continued his tyrannical rant against Ricky.

“By now you've probably googled them and for the first time Google doesn't even know….Nobody knows them, how do you sell records when nobody knows you?!”

After doodling on the faces of Gunplay, Torch, Young Breed and Ross (Yes those are their names) Fif gave his prediction on their album sales.

“Here's a prediction, ten. Ten thousand copies….I mean they are a country western group trying to write country western music over really bad Hip-Hop production.”

I swear this guy is hilarious! He hates everybody!

Check out the video of 50 going in on Rick Ross and Triple C's.
