President Obama To Tell Public Federal Secrets

In a move that can be seen as a major step in delivering the transparency of government promised by then candidate Obama, now President Obama has ordered several government agencies to re-evaluate how many of our national secrets are protected.

For his first trick, America's first Black President is expected to call for the declassification of over 400 million Cold War-ear files, making them available to the public.

Also on the “Change” menu is a new requirement that federal agencies must review how and why some documents are marked as classified while making it illegal to deny the release of historical records. He has also mandated that all records must be eventually released.

The National Declassification Center at the National Archives will be created to oversee this change in policy and is expected to have all Cold Ware-era documents released to the public by December 31st of 2013.

Kasim Reed Wins Atlanta's Mayoral Race; Recount Expected

A racially charged campaign between young, former Georgia State Senator Kasim Reed and Mary Norwood has ended. Reed has captured a majority of the vote and is, in all likelihood, Atlanta's 59^th mayor.

In a statement made to the press and supporters during the wee hours of the morning, Reed declared himself the victor after officials from Fulton County assured him of vote totals, which placed the State Senator over the former City Councilwoman by 758 votes.

Fortunately for Norwood, that amount is not over the 1% margin needed to bypass a recount, and she is expected to take advantage of that fact in a last ditch effort to steal a victory.

Nearly 560 provisional ballots have yet to be counted, and though there may be many that would favor Norwood, the amount is not enough to propel her past Reed.
