Wale Campaigns for 5 Mics with The Source

I can understand campaigning for presidency, asking people to buy an album, I even get lobbying for likes on Facebook or Twitter followers, but Wale is on a mission to get The Source Magazine to give him a 5 Mic rating for Ambition.

Is he delusional? He's been calling this LP classic for awhile now and I know Kanye did that with College Dropout, but he backed it up.

I'm not saying Ambition isn't great or anything, if you're a Wale fan then maybe it's right up your alley. But I don't know how this campaign is supposed to work. Maybe the staff at The Source will see this video and like the music more...

“Kanye can't help making himself look like an idiot…”

While Kanye West was busy vacationing during Paris' Men's Fashion Week accompanied by girlfriend Amber Rose he raised more than a few eyebrows, in particular because of his choice to dress almost head-to-toe in fur.

Most perturbed by Ye's choice of wardrobe is none other than People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals or PETA who's seeing red after pictures surfaced of the couple in their non-animal friendly wear.

As previously reported, the organization targeted Kelis for her recent choices to wear fur leading to a battle of words between the singer and the campaign.

Now their latest targets are Kanye and Amber who they describe as “painting the town blood red.”

Obviously annoyed by the couple's almost blatant disregard for PETA's anti-fur message a representative for the company released a statement on their website saying,

"The prettiest people do the ugliest things For the road to riches and diamond rings . . . We'll buy a lot of clothes but we don't really need ‘em Things we buy to cover up what's inside —Kanye West, “All Falls Down.”

West apparently lives by his lyrics. The ethical dropout—who horrified voters in PETA's Worst-Dressed Celebrity competition last year—and his sleazy sidekick, Amber Rose, were snapped by paparazzi strutting around Paris in “the ugliest things,” indeed. Both were wearing head-to-toe fur, and Amber refused to remove her full-length lynx coat during a show at Paris Men's Fashion Week.

Putting the final nail in the coffin, the rep quoted the Vice President of the organization denouncing Ye and his side piece as “pathetic creatures.”

As PETA V.P. Dan Mathews so eloquently put it, “Kanye can't help making himself look like an idiot, whether at an award's show or a fashion show. He and his girlfriend look like pathetic creatures from a shabby roadside zoo.”

Can you really be mad at PETA when you see them wearing outfits like this?

They better be on the lookout for those red paint cans…..

Every great star is meant to take a tailspin and fall to their lowest in order to deal with the adversity against him/her and rise back to reclaim their position.

Kobe Bryant went through it with his infidelity and Tiger Woods is currently going through it due to mistresses that seemed to open their mouths more times than it was asked for.

Kanye West is on a slow climb back into the public eye and his appearance accompanied with a verse for Jay-Z's “Run This Town” has been an indicator of things to come and show that the rapper is far from losing his step.

Always known to go against the grain instead of following the pack, his innovativeness has progressed since College Dropout in 2004, and with a new decade, can only come limitless opportunity.

Utilizing his Internet outlet to speak with his fans, West gave an update through his blog on what's to come next and gives thanks to those that have fought with him since his debut album.

FIRST OF ALL, I WANT TO THANK EVERYBODY FOR THEIR CONSTATN LOVE AN DSUPPORT OVER THESE PAST 6 YEARS! I'M SO HAPPY TO BE BACK IN THE STUDIO MAKING NEW MUSIC. I WILL BRING YOU THE BEST I HAVE TO OFFER WITH THE SAME DEDICATION THAT KOBE HAS ON THE COURT. IT'S FUNNY HOW SO MANY RAPPERS GET WORSE AS THEIR CAREERS STRETCH OUT BUT TRUE POETS GET BETTER. WE WILL FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF MAYA ANGELOU, GILL SCOTT HERRON AND NINA SIMONE. THEIR WORK IMPROVED WITH TIME. THEY DOCUMENTED WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN CULTURE. THAT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS THE MODERN DAY ARTISTS AND POETS, TO ACCURATELY REPRESENT WHAT IS HAPPENEING NOW, SO WHEN THE POWERS THAT BE TRY TO REWRTIE HISTORY YOU CAN ALWAYS LOOK AT OUR WORKS AND FIND TRUTH AND SINCERITY IN A WORLD OF PROCESSED INFORMATION. LET US SOAK IN POSITIVE FORCES AND LOOK DOWN ON UPON THOSE WHO MASQUERADE AS TRUTH TELLERS AND OBJECTIVE FACT GIVERS WHEN IN REALITY EVERYTHING THAT IS PROJECTED HAS AN AGENDA OF BRAINWASHING US. THE “CONSUMER”, THE PUBLIC, TO BELIEVE WHAT THEY WANT US TO. LET US LOOK PAST HEADLINES AND DEAL WITH JUST A BIT OF REALITY IN THIS NEW DECAE. WE HAVE OUR OWN OUTLETS NOW. WE DON'T HAVE TO BELIEVE IN EVERYTHING ANYMORE. NOW I'LL FIGURE OUT A WAY TO MAKE THAT RHYME LOL!!!

Kanye West is officially back. Watch out Hip Hop, he's back to claim his rightful spot.

With Kanye West on a brief hiatus from the music world preferring to remain outside of the limelight to re-evaluate certain things, the rapper is still finding a way to give back to his fans in his time away.

The Chicago native will be leaving his fans with a holiday surprise as he will be auctioning off several items from his popular clothing Web site, karmaloop.com.

Fans will essentially be able to take a piece of Yeezy with them, from Kanye West himself.

The purpose of the auction is to raise funds for his non-profit organization, the Kanye West Foundation.

Along with the signed memorabilia that are up for bid, fans will also receive a copy of the Glow in the Dark photo book, a pair of Air Yeezy sneaks and a shirt with his brand for his “Loop Dreams” music education programs.

Established in 2003, West has already leapt major bounds as 2007 saw him hosting the inaugural benefit concert to launch the foundation's partnership with Strong American Schools which focuses on aiding Latino and African American children stay in school and obtain a proper education throughout their journey from grade school to college.

West has most recently been known for his innovation with fashion and as a person that steers away from looking like the average rapper. Planning to launch a fashion career, West had applied for internships with major European fasion houses and is in the process of releasing his own clothing line, Past Tell, along with a collaboration with Louis Vuitton to develop a show that was released this summer.

He recently received a great honor as his debut album The College Dropout was dubbed as the Top Album of the Decade. No matter how arrogant or cocky some may feel that he is, such an accolade as this can only add to what he's been saying this whole time.

Kanye West is officially responding to the honor of being deemed the man with the top album of the decade. As previously reported, Kanye received the nod from Entertainment Weekly for his debut project, College Dropout which beat out Jay-Z's The Blueprint and Stankonia from Outkast.

Obviously pleased with his new title and of course himself, Yeezy took to his blog to acknowledge his latest accomplishment. Thanking the entertainment news wire he said,

"Wow... this is really flattering… I've had some ups and downs this year, well actually this decade. Just seeing this cover takes me back to that time of my life. I remember how much pain and love went into this album, no one saw it coming. This project wasn't about me, it was about a time in peoples lives where people force opinions on you and you have to make choices for yourself...."

Ye then went on to thank those that helped and inspired him including his mother and Lauryn Hill for her Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Ye also made sure to mention that in his opinion, Andre 3000's The Love Below and 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Trying were worthy of the honor as well.

Peep the rest of Kanye's response below.

Good for Ye I guess. You know they just gave him the number one spot so he wouldn't have another meltdown.

Hey, I'm just sayin….

With Kanye West officially AWOL as it relates to the music industry, on a much needed mental vacation, the rapper has still been able to deliver to fans in other forms. Fresh off the short film with Spike Jonze, West is in the process of moving into the realm of literature.

Collaborating with the likes of Bill Plympton, a famed illustrator, the rapper/producer has come up with Through the Wire, which is a graphic memoir that will feature the lyrics to 12 of his most significant songs in his career. With the ego that West has come to build while in the industry, who would have thought that 12 would be enough to sum up his best work.

The upcoming literary work has been given a drop date of November 10th as to when it will be available for fans that are thirsty enough to find a new way into the rapper's life.

The lyrics will be accompanied with illustrations and the book will overall serve as an autobiography that will chronicle his story. In lamest terms, Plympton will use his artistic ability to bring out his particular image of West's words as if creating an outlet to his world through his own eyes.

Debuting as the College Dropout, the Chicago native will dive into his choice to leave higher learning for music as well as his known days at The Gap which he delivered to fans in the form of “Spaceship.” The book will also follow his struggles in making a name for himself as a producer and that car accident that left him with a wired jaw, but in the end served as a catalyst in his career in the ranks of Roc-A-Fella with Jay-Z.

Prior to this upcoming book, a photo book entitled, Glow In The Dark tour was exactly what seems apparent from the title. In his most successful of tours, up to now, the work gives the experience in the form of countless photographs used to capture what was Kanye West's grand stand as an artist.

West gave his thumbs up of the work by means of his blog.

This is the photo book from the Glow in the Dark tour. Nabil captured the experience like crazy! When I look at the photos it brings me right back to that time! It's very emotional for me because I didn't want to have to tour but my pain brought my greatest creation to date. Thank you to everybody who came to the shows and experienced this moment in time with me.

Time is the only indicator that can tell when the heart and soul will heal and West has made it evident that the time is long overdue. Now taking time away from the politics of the industry, the artist will only come back stronger.

Mos Def Rips Into Jay Leno

Even as the fire has burned out and the smoke has settled, there still seems to be a lingering taste in the mouths of some as it relates to Kanye West's incident.

Some have looked at the situation and condemned West as an overall menace and painted a picture of an evil baby that draws out his horns whenever he doesn't get his way. Others, however, feel as though the situation has come to an unnecessary boil and have simply stated that it could have been much worse than it actually was.

Amidst the troubles that were brewing for West after his dramatic tantrum during the VMA's, late night television show host Jay Leno was able to do what few has done, leave West speechless. In regards to his actions, Leno questioned how the rapper's mother would react to her son's outburst. Still dealing with the passing of his mother, Donda West, moments of silence followed as the rapper almost seemed to be brought to tears by the sheer thought.

“And Jay Leno, with your banana boat face having a*s, you need to apologize to Kanye West for asking him with his mother [would say], what she would think, she would think she'd need to smack your fuc*ing banana face-hacing a*s face off trying to be slick.”

The friendship of West and Def has its history and is most evident in the music. Starting back with West's debut album, College Dropout, the two have collaborated on tracks like “Two Words”, “Drunk and Hot Girls” and “Good Night”.

Currently, the rapper has collaborated with Dame Dash in producing a documentary. Although the upcoming flick is without title, the focus will be on an all-Black punk band named Death from Detroit in the 1970s. Production has already commenced and it will be directed by Coodie and Chike, who are known for working on videos for Kanye West, “Through the Wire” and Mos Def, “Ghetto Rock”.

Loyalty is something that is hard to come by, but once it happens friends will ride with each other no matter what the case. In this particular case, attacking West has brought about the fury of Def and although he may come off as quiet, don't let the movie roles ever get it twisted. Behind all the flashing lights, he is still from Brooklyn.
