According to TMZ, Coolio was riding in a Nissan Versa when it was pulled over for a routine traffic stop. After running his name in the system, police found that the 48-year-old, who recently appeared on the Rachel Vs. Guy Celebrity Cook-Off show on The Food Network, had two active bench warrants due to a host of traffic violations. He was carted off to Clark County Detention Center, and his bail has been set at $5,850, but at least his son can keep him company.

The aforementioned offspring, Grtis Ivey, was arrested last November for ransacking a Las Vegas apartment alongside his companion---who just happened to be a female prostitute. Ivey allegedly robbed the tenant at gun point to recoup money owed to his friend.

Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. But seriously, what's good with those braids?

The fitting Coolio song "Fantastic Voyage," was played during a segment about a 103 year old woman in Coatsville, Pennsylvania who is still driving.
The lyrics played during the segment were:

"Ain't no bloodin', Ain't no crippin' / Ain't no punk-a** n***a's set trippin' / everybody's got a stack and it ain't no crack / and it really don't matter..."

If you ask me, I think CNN should be apologizing for playing a Coolio song period!

Fresh off having a bench warrant for his arrest dismissed, more financial issues are knocking on the former rapper's door as his baby's mother is demanding that he start paying child support.

With documentation stating that he earns just over $1,300 a month, the woman is telling the rapper to pay her $300 monthly for his one-year-old son, Christopher Kal El Ivey Bellesi.

Well, in comparison to Nas, everyone else is making out great when it comes to proposed child support payments.

Much deeper than making payments, the woman, Anabella Bellesi, told TMZ that it has become a necessary step at this point.

According to Bellesi, in order for her to apply for Medi-Cali for young Christopher, it must be proven to the state that all of her funds/options have been exhausted.

Coolio, it's about time to start getting it together over on your part of town instead of allowing a hole to dig itself deeper and deeper.

An L.A. judge issued a $10,000 bench warrant against Coolio Monday for failure to appear in court.

The 90's rapper was scheduled to replace Earl Simmons a.k.a. DMX in a mixed martial arts battle in December but as previously reported, that plan was scrapped after the fight was postponed indefinitely.
Now Coolio, real name Artis Leon Ivey, Jr., is wanted after skipping out on his court date for possession of a controlled substance.

Coolio was arrested in 2009 at LAX airport after police found him with crack cocaine.  Coolio pleaded guilty to the charge and has since been placed on probation. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday for an update hearing but was mysteriously absent.

According to TMZ, Coolio's lawyer placed several calls to the rapper but could not reach him.

Coolio's possible whereabouts have not been reported.

Coolio's MMA fight against Eric Martinez was postponed Saturday and according to the promoters of the event, X is to blame.

Thunder Promotions is already taking X to court for $1 million in damages and $6,000 for a deposit for cancelling the event. The CEO of Thunder Promotions, Rod Riccardi, has since released a statement denouncing the rapper and apologizing to angry fans saying,

“As CEO of Thunder Promotions LLC, I have endeavored to promote the highest quality of fight entertainment. Toward that goal, my company has resisted any and all efforts to participate in fights that were less than above board and legitimate. With this event, Thunder Promotions LLC had expended a great deal of time, effort and money promoting an event that was to be headlined by the rap personality DMX. When he decided to back out of the event due to our refusal to fix his fight, it left Thunder Promotions LLC with little time to promote an event with a replacement headliner….. With this lesson learned, I can assure everyone and all that Thunder Promotions LLC will continue with a vengeance and the public can anticipate future events that we will promote that will overshadow any promotion in the State of Alabama and elsewhere."

Coolio's fight has tentively been rescheduled to January 23.

He pulled out of the agreement however after learning that the fight would not be fixed and he'd more than likely get the beating of his life.
Now as Coolio steps in to replace him, he's seeing court papers sent his way for reneging on his promise.

Thunder Promotions filed court papers Friday November 20 against the rapper in Birmingham County Court. According to the court documents, the promotion company claims DMX's cancellation has caused them hundreds and thousands of dollars and damages and they're suing him for $1 million dollars.

X also owes the government $1.5 million in back taxes.

Damn X, damn.

After learning that the fight would not be rigged in his favor, X made the wise decision to not participate in the ‘would be' pummeling.

In a final attempt to salvage their client's dream, X's manager sent out an addendum to the event promoters asking them to agree to a fake bout saying:

“Event Promoter and Management agree that [DMX] is scheduled to win Boxing Challenge. All parties agree this event has been scheduled to occur only in fun and that the artist involved is not a professional boxer.”

The event promoters did not agree to the addendum however and have recruited a new victim to take his place.

The heat is officially off X as Coolio's stepping in to take over. That's right, Coolio.

Coolio will step in the ring to see how he fares against Martinez on December 12 in Jefferson, Alabama.

His match will not be fixed so be sure to prepare for the worst.

SMH. I hope his family has life insurance.

The rapper is known best for his hits in the mid-1990's which included “Gangsta's Paradise” and “Fantastic Voyage.”

The charges come from an incident on March 6th where he was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport, where cocaine was found inside a luggage search by authorities. Along with possession of cocaine, Coolio made matters worse by resisting arrest and getting a charge of battery when he grabbed the arm of the luggage screener to prevent the search.

In total, the charges against him are: one felony count of drug possession and two misdemeanors: battery and possession of a smoking device.

The judge actually advised that the rapper consider a plea bargain as Coolio initially pled not guilty to all of the charges against him.

Fortunately, his plea will allow him to avoid jail time, with the battery charge being dropped, and he will enter an 18-month drug rehabilitation program, according to a spokeswoman for the prosecutors. Coolio could have faced three years in prison had he not pled guilty and was convicted of all the charges against him, according to Jane Robsion, spokeswoman for the L.A. County District Attorney's Office.

The program is known as Deferred Entry of Judgment, and if he is able to complete the program, Coolio can request to have the judge dismiss the case, said Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Inda.

As his rap career has catapulted into obscurity, he is most known now for his appearances and participation on reality TV shows such as “Celebrity Big Brother,” “Celebrity Fear Factor” and his own “Cookin' With Coolio” and “Coolio's Rules.”

Coolio is scheduled to report back to the LAX Superior Court on September 28th in order to get a progress report.
