Duck Down Entaprizez has been celebrating 15 years of independence with an East Coast tour and proving at every stop that the music/marketing collective has the code to survival of the fittest.

Hip-Hop Wired caught up with the crew (Skyzoo, Pharoahe Monch, and Boot Camp Clik members Smif N Wessun, Sean Price, and Buckshot) on the Hip Hop Livs/Washington, D.C. leg where they delivered a meet and greet at fashion retailer Commonwealth and where the crowd was so thick at Liv Nightclub, that, in true New York fashion, it was only enough room for bobbing of the head and putting up of the hands.

“They took down a lot of labels,” declared Buckshot, “but the harder you hit Duck Down, the harder we hit back.”

The tour continues tonight in Philadelphia at TLA.

Like the month's prior, the final MixMaster Weekend of the year will feature Da Beatminerz's ten jocks and six personalities. Reoccurring guests Break Beat Lou, Lord Sear, DJ Scratch and this month's special guests Mos Def's DJ, Presevation, DJ Maseo of De La Soul and Sirus XM's DJ Eclipse are all scheduled to perform as well.

"We do MixMaster Weekends because we all love to DJ. We do it to give something back to the fans. It is just an extra dose of good music," Mr. Walt explains.
