As previously reported, Wilborn and his wife were attempting to buy a $1.7 million home from Daniel and Adrienne Sabbia, a white couple.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development filed a complaint on behalf of Wilborn however after an investigator told them that Daniel Sabba declined to sign the contract because he'd “rather not sell to an African American.”

Now Wilborn and his wife Peytyn have officially filed a $100 million lawsuit in federal court for the discrimination they faced trying to buy the five-bedroom home in the city's Bridgeport neighborhood.

According to the Chicago-SunTimes, Bridgeport has been known for hostility to Blacks and when asked why he'd want to live there, Wilborn replied,

“I didn't care where the home was. It was a specific type of house that my wife and I felt that we had earned the right to live in...It just happened to be in Bridgeport."

The Wilborns' offer to the couple was reportedly the highest they'd received in two years.

Rather than sell the home to the Wilborns, the Sabbias took it off the market only to put it back on in March with an asking price of $1.799 million.

Wilborn's attorney has since spoken out on his behalf saying,

“This is the year 2010, and to go through what they've had to go through, to suffer the mental anguish they've had to deal with because they were discriminated against in a way that nobody should have to deal with in this day and age. They were discriminated against in the worst way."

According to the woman, Monica Covington, restaurant owners and employees of Kampai Japanese Steak and Seafood House, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, refused to give her service making the allegations that she is a poor tipper.

Covington said that the issue arose when she was overcharged with gratuity as the restaurant stated that there was a 15% gratuity added when there was a party of six or more people.

“I noticed on our ticket that they added 18 percent gratuity and there was only two others with me at the time," Covington said.

The woman, however, paid anyway.

Returning a month later, Covington said that she would have to pay the 18% gratuity if she wanted to dine there anymore.

In response, she started a petition, which has reached 300 names, demanding that the restaurant practice fair business.

Michael Lam, the owner, gave his rebuttal and made the claim that Covington has always been a poor tipper, which resulted in problems as the employees didn't want to serve her.

During the final five minutes of the State High School Soccer Championship match between Gulfport and Northwest Rankin, a white player from Gulfport exploded and brutally attacked a black player from Northwest.

Well, it must be troubling to know that Black people are taking over all sports, but the player wasn't willing to let go of soccer.  He was literally ready to fight for it.

Arlington Shirley, number eight, was the victim of the attack as he was punched in the face at least five times during the assault.

"He decided he was gonna take him out, and he grabbed my son around the throat and threw him down and started punching him," said Terrence Shirley, father of the attacked Northwest player.”

His father added that the referee and authorities did nothing and actually ejected Arlington from the game first, waiting 15 minutes before making the decision to remove the attacker, Zach Windom, from the game.

Had the shoe been on the other foot, however, most would be assured that immediate action would have been taken and the victim wouldn't be the one getting kicked out since they took the beating.

"Obviously he had no idea that it was gonna happen, had no way to defend himself and the guy started pummeling him and if someone had not come over and kind of helped to try to get him off who knows how long it would have gone on. the referees didn't seem like they were gonna stop him," said Arlington's father.

Footage actually shows the referee BACKING away from the fight instead of trying to stop it.

"The incident is under investigation and will be dealt with...All students or coaches ejected from any competition because of their behavior are required to go through on line Star Sportsmanship Training," said Mississippi High School Activities Association spokesperson Dr. Phyfa Eiland.

Taking his son to the University Medical Center, he stated that Arlington has a broken left wrist which will require surgery, along with facial lacerations and abrasions.  He is now fighting to have Windom arrested on assault charges.

They have since hired an attorney and plan to pursue some legal action for the matter.

Police state, however, that charges cannot be filed for the attack as actions on the playing field cannot be classified as criminal.

Man, it's a surprise that Tiger Woods lasted so long in golf, but everyone knows how they got Black man out of that.

“I don't feel too safe walking by the woods,” said Allen Edwards, a 19-year-old Black student from Canton.  “There's woods everywhere.  And somebody could be out in them, and I don't know.”

In the town of Nelsonville, Ohio within the confines of Hocking College, Black students have been on high alert since warnings of death threats began to appear stating that those particular students would be killed.

Investigations went underway after the FBI began investigating a threat that was etched across a bathroom wall last week saying that Black students would be killed on February 2.

Last Friday is when the first threat was discovered and the school has bulked up security with more surveillance cameras along with patrol guards.  There has also been a reward offered in the amount of $5,000.

The warning was confirmed Tuesday by the school who went on to state that one note read “kill the n-----.”

Since then, students have been taking the warning very seriously and are taking the necessary precautions to ensure that they are not placing their lives in imminent danger.  At least two Black students have withdrawn from the community college fearing for their safety with another dozen relocating from the dormitories.  There has been temporary housing offered to students who are afraid to stay on campus.

As most would assume, the threat has only served as a platform to create or build upon racial tensions within the school's community.

Hocking College has had a history of racially motivated actions as students have admitted to seeing racial comments.  Coincidentally, it was in the same bathroom.  Some students have also been victim to verbal comments from fellow students.

“We'd be sitting at a lunch table and some guys would be sitting across the room, and they'd be screamin, like ‘n---- lover' across the table,” said Amelinda Marengo, a student who is half Puerto Rican.  “I had enough of it one day and I got up and I just started yelling at them and telling them, like, ‘Threre is no reason for you to treat someone like that.”

Let's hope some actions are taken and these threats aren't looked at lightly.  Nobody ever wants to have to hear about something similar to Columbine or Virginia Tech.

34.5% of young Black men are unemployed.

Reported in October, unemployment for African-American men between the ages of 16 and 24 has skyrocketed.  The percent is more than three times the unemployment rate for the entire U.S. population.

This month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that unemployment for Blacks in D.C had risen from 11.4% to 11.9%, although employment was stable for other races located in Maryland and Virginia.

As the country deals with a recession, Black America is slowly crumbling into an economic depression with jobs becoming scarcer, especially for the Black community.  The hole is becoming deeper and deeper and the light for opportunity only flickers.

Issues trying to find stability in the work force for a Black man spans farther back in history than most can remember.  Some have been placed in situations where they feel they are in dead end jobs and are the last to be hired, but the first to be fired.

In regards to the present, the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that African-Americans had a higher rate of job loss in the fourth quarter of 2008 when compared to whites, Hispanics or any other ethnic group in America.

Back in March 2009, the unemployment rate for Black men was reported at 15.4% and was almost double to jobless white men.

A study was conducted by Princeton University of 1,500 employers within New York City and the results found that Black applicants that did not have criminal backgrounds did not have more of a chance at getting a job than white applicants that were fresh out of the prison system.

Discrimination has clearly played out to be the dominant factor in the downturn when compared to things such as age, income and education.  The Center of Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University reported that lower-income white teens are more likely to obtain employment than upper-income Black teens.

As the road remains tumultuous, the true nature of the country begins to rear its ugly head.  Even with so much time passed and so much accomplished within its history, America is still unable to unlock its grasp on race.

Keep in mind that with drastic times comes drastic measures, so as a person is unable to alleviate their back from being against the wall, he/she is prone to explore other means in order to get what they want when the legal, civilized way isn't working.
