Brooklyn's own Maino stopped by the offices of This Is The Dream to chop it up on several topics. One of the main points discussed, was the current state of Hip-Hop. Maino suggests that a lot of the authenticity and realness has disappeared from the game, whereas it was seen as a requirement in year's past. "Nobody cares about how real you are, or about authenticity. At the end of the day, the music just has to be good."

The Hustle Hard MC went on to reminisce about how he's grown from being that rapper that cared so much about "being real," and how he's adapted to today's genre of Hip-Hop. "I have a more broad perspective than that, which is what I want people to understand...it's not about I'm a real dude, that's from the street," said Maino. "This is the music business, and we are all entertainers... Nobody's in the street. The people that really are, want to get out."

After applying this new outlook to his approach in music, Maino spoke about collaborating with artists, that he typically wouldn't have worked with in the past. "I don't think I should hold myself down," he said. "I did a song with Roscoe Dash, and some people asked why I did that...I should be able to rock with, whomever I want to rock with. I've done songs with Good Charlotte and Junior Sanchez. Artistry is artistry, and if good music can come out of it, then it can be done."

Maino went on to elaborate: "If you continue to think like that, then you won't progress. I had to learn that everyone doesn't have the same morals and principles that I have. This is business."

The business at hand for the Brooklyn representative, is releasing his second album, The Day After Tomorrow, on Feb. 28th. Prior to the album, he released a new mixtape, I Am Who I Am, which is available now.

Rumors have surfaced that Emilio Rojas will be signing with Maybach Music Group. While speaking to MTV News, Rick Ross discussed the possibility of bringing Rojas into the MMG fold, along with Dom Kennedy.

"If I'm a fan of your music, it's always a possibility and I'm a fan of Emilio" Ross stated.

Hip-Hop Wired spoke with Rojas to find out what the New York MC had to say about Ross' comments and the idea of joining a crew like MMG.

"They're about bringing good music over there, and everybody over there is incredibly talented...I really appreciate all the love and respect they've shown me and my music," Rojas told Hip-Hop Wired. "It's a blessing to have someone on that level, reach out and tell you, that they're a fan of your craft."

MMG is currently the home for several young and talented MC's, including Meek Mill, Wale, and up and comer Stalley, which can make for a very crowded roster. With a full slate of projects to be released in 2012, it would be interesting to see if Emilio would be a good fit with the team. The 'Breaking Point' MC responded to that question with the following: "I mean I don't know if it's a fit or not, only time will tell. Right now I'm just working on a lot of my own stuff, anything that happens, it just has to be right."

Rojas revealed that some future collabs with MMG may already be on the horizon. "I don't know, they have some records of mine, over there, so we'll see," he said. "One thing they do well is work well with one another, and they'er always doing records with each other."

A roster such as MMG can easily provoke competition within the camp, but Emilio doesn't see that coming from him. "I'm a competitive person, but I don't really compete with other artists. I feel like everybody can eat, if they work together. I'm just gonna continue doing what I've been doing, which is what made [Rozay] reach out to me in the first place."

Emilio Rojas came through to chop it up with the Hip-Hop Wired team recently, and discussed a few topics. The NY native spoke on his latest project, The Breaking Point, which had no rap features on it. "The last tape was very feature heavy, and I feel like a lot of people use features as a crutch," said Rojas.

Rojas also spoke with us about being in the running to make XXL Magazine's Freshman list. "To be on the cover is a huge honor. It's a major publication...the things that come with being nominated; its a blessing. XXL has been very supportive to me, especially the website, and everyone at the magazine."

The issue that displays the Freshmen to watch will be hitting the stands very soon, so we'll have to way and see who makes the cut. In addition to those topics, the indie MC touched on his label situation, and what he thinks of being signed to a major imprint. "We've done all of this on our own, without y'all!"

See what else Emilio had to say regarding these topics, and much more.

DJ Green Lantern and the good people over at Invasion Radio recently released a throwback interview with Wiz Khalifa at age 19, when Wiz was just starting out in the rap game.

The interview is roughly four years old and it's interesting to watch a Young Khalifa, before the fame, tattoos and Amber Rose, giving an interview where he talks about grinding to get his first deal with Warner Bros. Records.

Of course, Wiz's deal with Warner didn't pan out back then, but he eventually ended up down the hall at Atlantic Records.

Four years and a gold selling Rolling Papers album later, the Wizzle Man has turned out alright.
