Along with Stalley, both artists are candidates for XXL's 2012 Freshman list, which Meek was a member of during the 2011 campaign. Meek was in fact signed by the label by the time the cover hit the stands, so it'd be interesting to see if either has the same fortune as the Philly spitter in their future. What would be more interesting, is if MMG ends up signing both, and have the possibility of three artists grace this year's cover.

2012 XXL Freshman candidate Dom Kennedy chops it up with FLuD, as part of their On The Clock Series. The California MC talks about being influenced by Stevie Wonder, being a songwriter, his evolution in music, and more.

Snoop Dogg stars as News Anchor "Nemo H*es" and highlights some of the Best Artist Appearances, and News Stories of 2011 on the Double G News Network. We've seen what Snoop has to offer in the realm of comedy, and this isn't any different. He gets a hand from Kendrick Lamar and David Banner, as well as Bishop Don Juan, to keep the party going.

After helping launch the Originals 2011 Adidas Boot Collection, Kendrick Lamar headlined a showcase of young rising stars call Respect the West.  Each of the featured artists is making a fair share of noise in the industry and simultaneously playing a huge part in West Coast Hip-Hop's' resurgence.

The showcase originated two years ago at the SXSW Musicfest in Austin, Texas, via Adidas Originals & the Cashmere Agency.  Since its creation, the showcase has grown exponentially and played host to the likes of: MURS, Warren G, DJ Quik, Tha Dogg Pound, Mistah F.A.B. and Snoop Dogg, as well as up and comers Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Pac Div.  

In addition to this showcase, several of these young artists are currently candidates for XXL's 2012 Freshmen Class, which is a testament to their hard work and dedication.   Here's a video recap of this year's showcase.

Look out for cameos from Big K.R.I.T., Big Sant and Mali Hunter.

10 Hip-Hop Acts Bringing The West Coast Back

From N.W.A. to Dr. Dre's classic The Chronic, Snoop Dogg's rise to super stardom and Death Row's dominant success with Tupac Shakur, Hip-Hop belonged to California during the late '80's and early '90's.

But since Pac's murder in 1996, the downfall of Suge Knight and Death Row, and Dr. Dre's seeming refusal to release Detox, the West lost it's reign on rap with the emergence of New York crews like Roc-A-Fella and the Ruff Ryders, Southern dynasties like No Limit and Cash Money, and Midwest stars like Eminem, Kanye West and Nelly, who would dominant rap charts through the late '90's and new millennium.

Although, what goes around, comes back around, as over the last few years, there has been a resurgence of new blood and fresh rap talent coming out of the Golden State, positioning themselves to bring the Hip-Hop crown back to the West Coast.
