What's the over under that The Chronic didn't cost nearly as much to record? Anyway, the Bawse stays winning.

MTV News' lead correspondent Sway chatted with the Bawse about the secretive meeting over the weekend in Miami, and Ross coolly expressed his joy. “We got the opportunity to just first and foremost touch base like bosses,” said Ross. “We went out, we had dinner, we just discussed ideas and that led to the studio.”

Still remaining vague on the details, the meeting and instruction from Dre has inspired Rozay to approach his craft from a different angle. “The advice he gave me, it's already affected the way I've been in the studio for the last week," shared Ross. "So let's just say he's full of knowledge and he's a solid guy.”

Rozay's fifth solo album God Forgives, I Don't is slated for a 2012 release after being delayed last year. Ross' latest official mixtape currently circulating in the streets is Rich Forever.

In a recent show in Austin, Texas, K-Dot called a fan on stage with him to perform "Welcome To Detox." If you haven't seen the Compton MC perform live yet, you may not know the level of appreciation he has for his followers. It's not at all uncharacteristic for him to pull a fan onstage for an impromptu performance.

Here we see a fan who kicks Kendrick's verse with no problem at all. In fact, you can compare his performance to the actual song audio below. Keep your eye out for Kenrick in 2012, as it should be a good year for him.

Maybach Music's young star, Meek Mill, stopped by to chop it up with Justin Credible & Jay Cruz of the L.A. Leakers Show of Power 106. Meek discussed his label situation with T.I. before signing with MMG, and working with Dr. Dre on a upcoming project, possibly Detox. The Philly spitter also gave a release date for his new mixtape, Dreamchasers 2, just before he threw a few bars over Drake's "The Motto."

Beats By Dre headphones have become ubiquitous, whether in music videos or on the street. Despite its success, there is an impending shake up at the company. Business Week reports that Beats Electronics, co-owned by Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, has decided not to renew its five year contract with Monster Cable Products, which is up at the end of year.

It seems like the split, which both companies say was on good terms, is over who gets credit for Beats By Dre's success, with the latter seeking a bigger share of revenues. Monster will go forward with its own line of headphones, including models branded with Earth, Wind & Fire and Miles Davis. Beats still has ties with HTC smartphones, HP computers and audio systems in cars like the Chrysler 300.

“We have very big ambitions for Beats beyond headphones,” says Iovine. “Music has got to succeed on the phone or else the record industry will never thrive.”

Legendary producer Dr. Dre and former protégé Snoop Dogg will hop into their time machines and make like it's 1992 again, recombining forces to close out this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in mid-April. The west coast veterans join fellow headliners Radiohead and The Black Keys for the California festival, which is held in the valley of Indio, just east of Palm Springs.

The 2012 edition of the gets a revamp, as attendees will get to enjoy the festivities over two weekends: April 13-15 and April 20-22 – a first for Coachella. The lineup was revealed Monday [January 9], although updated ticketing information has not been released. Tickets for the 2012 Coachella event went on sale in 2011, and the wildly popular event is coming off its second sell-out year.  Tickets were priced at a whopping $269 (not including service fees) and the weekends are all considered separate ticketed events and not all-inclusive.

Joining Dre and Snoop in the Hip-Hop arena are underground darlings Company Flow, Kendrick Lamar, Odd Future (billed here as Wolf Gang), Frank Ocean and the red-hot A$AP Rocky. Female MC on the rise Azealia Banks will also make her first appearance at the festival. Drake collaborator The Weeknd will also grace Coachella stages, which will serve as his U.S. debut.

Dr. Dre has had his fair share of beefs over the years with former partners like Suge Knight, Eazy-E and Ice Cube,  and now PETA has thrown its name into the "FCUK Dre" hat.

The animal rights organization is upset with the good Dr. and designer Oscar de la Renta who are about to release a limited edition  pair of Beats By Dre headphones wrapped in silver fox fur. 

PETA representative Michelle Cho issued an open  letter to Dre advocating for the headphones to be discontinued. Part of the letter read:

We wanted to get in touch to urge you to keep fur and exotic-animal skins out of your Beats by Dre designs.  Foxes, minks, rabbits, and other animals including cats and dogs—are bludgeoned, genitally electrocuted, strangled with wire nooses, drowned, and even skinned alive for their pelts.

You have a tremendous amount of influence on young people.  Won't you please consider using your platform to advocate kindness toward animals by pledging never to design with real fur and exotic skins?

The Fox Fur Beats By Dre Headphones run a whopping $695.

I doubt PETA has that much to worry about as these won't be mass produced for this price.
