As previously reported, the promotion company claims DMX's cancellation has caused them hundreds of thousands of dollars and is taking him to court for $1 million dollars. Before they dry out his pockets completely, the promoters are asking for a small amount they allege is past due.

Thunder Promotions filed court papers in November claiming that X did not pay back the $6,000 advance given to him for the event.  They are seeking their $6,000 advance along with the $1 million as initially requested.

Coolio is set to replace him in the fight.

And the bad idea of the year award goes to……..smh. This promotion company's not playing X.

He pulled out of the agreement however after learning that the fight would not be fixed and he'd more than likely get the beating of his life.
Now as Coolio steps in to replace him, he's seeing court papers sent his way for reneging on his promise.

Thunder Promotions filed court papers Friday November 20 against the rapper in Birmingham County Court. According to the court documents, the promotion company claims DMX's cancellation has caused them hundreds and thousands of dollars and damages and they're suing him for $1 million dollars.

X also owes the government $1.5 million in back taxes.

Damn X, damn.

After learning that the fight would not be rigged in his favor, X made the wise decision to not participate in the ‘would be' pummeling.

In a final attempt to salvage their client's dream, X's manager sent out an addendum to the event promoters asking them to agree to a fake bout saying:

“Event Promoter and Management agree that [DMX] is scheduled to win Boxing Challenge. All parties agree this event has been scheduled to occur only in fun and that the artist involved is not a professional boxer.”

The event promoters did not agree to the addendum however and have recruited a new victim to take his place.

The heat is officially off X as Coolio's stepping in to take over. That's right, Coolio.

Coolio will step in the ring to see how he fares against Martinez on December 12 in Jefferson, Alabama.

His match will not be fixed so be sure to prepare for the worst.

SMH. I hope his family has life insurance.

As previously reported, he was scheduled to take on Eric Martinez on December 12 in Jefferson, Alabama. He even caused promotional melee about the upcoming production by stating that he wouldn't train for the event. Instead, he had the bright idea to just show up for the match to make things “more fair.”

He told the MMA Nation radio show,

“I'm going to just walk in as it is. It wouldn't be fair if I trained.”

X's fight was to be the precursor for the main event, the battle between Tank Abbot and Butterbean. That matchup will continue as scheduled.

Let's hope DMX really did cancel the fight, for the sake of his children at least.

Rapper DMX has left fans scratching their heads for years as it relates to his actions.  From his business in Arizona to his countless arrests, the announcement of fighting in the world of MMA may have put the icing on the cake. 

Forever a member of the Ruff Ryders, X has been on a road to redemption for the past few years as he is trying to stand at the top of the mountain, not only in music, but in his life. 

For those that didn't know, X is 38 years old now so it's more than overdue to have things back in order.

The dog may have bitten off more than he can chew, however.  As the bout was initially dubbed to be a fight with Mixed Martial Arts, DMX has stated that although he is a fan of the UFC, he would never engage in that type of fighting.  He was actually unaware of the fact that MMA and UFC are the same thing. 

Hopefully the wires aren't being crossed and everyone knows that DMX wants to box otherwise Dark Man will be in for a rude awakening. 

Calling into MMA Nation, the rapper spoke on his own fighting background, heavy interest in the realm of boxing and his ability to keep himself in shape physically.  With the fight approaching, X talked on the potential of doing more fights after this one.    

 “I'm not going to do too much of it.  I'm not trying to have my face all messed up.” 

On the verge of returning back to Hip-Hop, X added that he is heavy on his work for his upcoming album.  With no title provided, the rapper stated that it should be out around the first quarter of 2010.

The fight is scheduled for December 12 in Alabama against Eric Martinez.  X assures fans that the fight won't last all the way to the end.

Artists will also help out with community service before the event by delivering food to the American Charity Food Bank that helps feed 5,000 families in the winter. The concert takes place in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Saturday October 16.

The concert and charity work should prove to be a fitting distraction to X who will be in training for his upcoming mixed martial arts battle. He's taking on the CEO of Power Moves Entertainment, Eric Martinez during Alabama's ‘Alabama Pride' celebration in December. His fight will not be the main attraction at the event. Instead the match between mixed martial artists Butterbean and Tank Abbot will take center stage.
