T.O. Settles Child Support Dispute

Football star Terrell Owens has put an end to the child support issues between himself and his baby mama.

According to reports, the NFL star paid the child support he owed, and the mother of his child has dropped her plans to take Owens to court.

In late June, mother of Owens' child, Melanie Paige Smith, claimed the NFL player refused to pay the full $5,000 a month in child support that Owens owed for June and filed papers to take him to court.

Smith's lawyer, Randall Kessler, has now filed court papers to dismiss the request that Owens be held in contempt, stating that Owens has paid child support for June and July.

Owens is a free agent and cannot sign with a NFL team until after the league's lockout has been resolved.

Surely a simple conversation between Owens and Smith could have prevented all of this.

Maybe something like, "Hey, Melanie, the NFL is in a lockout right, and I won't be able to pay all my child support money this month. You know I have four kids. Things are kind of rough right now, but I promise I'll get it to you when I can."

Or maybe not...

We guess you have to do what you have to do when someone owes you money.

Woman Says Owens Refuses To Pay Child Support

Terrell Owens' baby mama says the football star refuses to pay the full $5,000 a month in child support that he owes.

Reports state:

Melanie Paige Smith filed court papers June 20 in an Atlanta court seeking to hold the player in contempt.

Owens "has failed and refused to pay the full amount of child support for June 2011," Atlanta attorney Randall Kessler wrote in court records. Owens' financial advisers have informed Smith that he's decided to no longer pay the full amount, Kessler added.

Kessler said Wednesday that Smith doesn't have any ill will toward Owens.

"She simply asks that he follow the order to which he agreed," he said. "Rather than discussing his situation with her or her lawyers first, he simply cut his child support."

Owens' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, did not immediately return messages Wednesday seeking comment.

Owens, a free agent, is recovering from knee surgery and can't sign with a team until the NFL lockout is resolved.

We're willing to bet that Terrell Owens didn't expect to wake up to this amount of slander today.

To his defense, the NFL is in the midst of a four month lockout.

T.O. can't be the only NFL player ducking out on his child support right now.

Don't worry, T.O., the league and the players union is working on a new agreement right now.

The lockout should be over soon.

It's hard out here for a NFL baller.

Terrelle Pryor Leaving Ohio State University

Ohio St. University quarterback Terelle Pryor will not be returning to the Buckeyes this upcoming college football season.

Pryor's announcement came through his attorney on Tuesday, following an NCAA investigation that left the quarterback suspended for the first five games of next season, and accused Pryor of taking more than $40,000 in improper benefits.

“In the best interests of my teammates, I've made the decision to forgo my senior year of football at The Ohio State University,” Pryor said in a statement issued by Columbus lawyer Larry James.

Pryor will make himself available for the NFL supplemental draft or could take his talents to the United Football League.

The Ohio St. football program, Coach Jim Tressell and Terrelle Pryor have been at the center of an Ohio St. football scandal since news broke in December that Ohio State players violated NCAA rules by selling a Columbus tattoo parlor owner several pieces of memorabilia.

Five players have been suspended and head football coach Jim Tressell resigned last week, due to speculation that he knew about the violations, but did not report them.

Terrelle Pryor was also accused of signing autographs for money, and is believed to have made between $20,000-$40,000 doing so last year.

“We understand Terrelle's decision and wish him well in this next phase of his life,” Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith said. “We hope he returns to The Ohio State University one day to finish his degree.”

“You know how sometimes you have the weight of the world on your shoulders and then something like this takes a little bit off?" Pryor's attorney Larry James said. “He's still only 21.”

“He did not want to be a a distraction to his teammates. This is something he came to consider after much thought.”

If you can't take the heat, get the hell out of the kitchen.

That's exactly what Terrelle Pryor is doing.

Plaxico Burress Released From Prison

Ex-New York Giant Plaxico Burress was released from prison on Monday after serving almost two years on a gun charge.

Burress was released from the Oneida Correctional Facility in central New York around 9 a.m. EST, and briefly spoke with reporters outside of the prison sayings, "I just want to thank God for bringing me through one of the most trying times in my life."

"It's a beautiful day. It's a beautiful day to be reunited with my family. I want to go home and spend some quality time with them."

"I'd like to thank everybody for their prayers and words of encouragement," he continued. "I'd like to thank all my fans all around the world for the thousands of letters, for their unwavering support. As far as football is concerned, if and when everything gets settled, when they get back on the field, I'll be ready."

Burress, 34, is looking to follow in the footsteps of NFL quarterback Michael Vick, and return to the National Football League after serving his time in prison.

"I wouldn't rule out any team, I wouldn't rule out the Giants, I wouldn't rule out any club," Burress' agent Drew Rosenhaus said of his client's chances of returning to the New York Giants. "I really won't talk about specific teams because I don't want to hurt his position. As far as the Giants, my personal opinion is he wouldn't rule them out. I certainly wouldn't."

"We are going to be open to all 32 teams," Rosenhaus continued. "Ultimately this will be Plax's decision, not mine. I am here to help him pick the best spot and get the very best contract. And that is what we will do."

Plaxico Burress was sentenced to two years in prison in September 2009 after accidentally shooting himself in a New York nightclub and pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon.

Burress won a Super Bowl championship with the Giants in 2008. He missed the last two NFL seasons.

The NFL wide receiver plans to return to his Florida home to spend time with his family, and begin training to rejoin the NFL.

Burress will not face any additional punishment from the NFL, and can sign with any team, pending the league's lockout.

Tiki Barber Creates Stir With Anne Frank Analogy

NFL running back Tiki Barber is catching heat in the media today for an article in Sports Illustrated, where the
former New York Giants football star compared himself to Holocaust victim Anne Frank.

In the SI article, Barber tells a story of hiding out with his girlfriend after breaking up with his then-pregnant wife. Barber and his girlfriend hid in his sports agent Mark Lepselter's attic.

"Lep's Jewish," Barber said to Sports Illustrated. "And it was like a reverse Anne Frank thing."

Barber has been under attack by media outlets since the article was released this week.

"In a world where nothing surprises me, where things get completely blown out of proportion, this only adds to the list," Lepselter told ESPNNewYork.com in defense of his client. "[Tiki] was shedding light on going back to that time when he was literally trapped, so to speak, in my attic for a week. Nothing more, nothing less."

Still, not everyone is taking Lepselter's side on the matter.

"Holocaust trivialization continues to spread and finds new ways and expressions that shock the conscience," Abraham H. Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League, said in a news release. "Tiki Barber's personal behavior is his business. But our history and experiences are ours and deserve greater respect than being abused or perverted by Tiki Barber.

"The analogy to Anne Frank is not funny, it is outrageous and perverse. Anne Frank was not hiding voluntarily. Before she perished at age 15 in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, she hid from the Nazis for more than two years, fearing every day for her life," Foxman continued.

"The Frank family's experiences, as recorded in Anne's dairy, are a unique testimonial to the horrors of the Holocaust, and her life should never be debased or degraded by insensitive and offensive analogies."

Yikes.

NFL owners might want to rethink this whole lockout thing and get these players back on the field asap, before something gets hurt.

Barber retired from the NFL in 2006, and spend four years as a NBC a correspondent for NBC's "Today Show" and the network's "Sunday Night Football."

Tiki Barber, 36, announced in March that he's making a comeback to the NFL this season (that is if there is a season).

Somewhere right now, Rick Ross is reading this story and putting the words "Anne Frank's back" in his lyrics.

Another NFL Player Stabbed In a Week

For the second time in less than a week a NFL player has been stabbed by a significant other.

On Wednesday, Denver Broncos defensive end Jason Hunter was taken to a hospital after being stabbed by his girlfriend in Detroit.

Hunter's agent Robert B. Walker said his client's injures are not life threatening. The agent tweeted, "I've spoken to my client Jason Hunter and it's a very minor injury, just a few stitches. He'll be fine. We thank you for your prayers."

The Broncos released a statement saying they hope Hunter "makes a quick recovery," and the team will look into the incident, but will not release any further comments out of respect for their player's privacy.

Hunter's stabbing comes just days after Miami Dolphins wide receiver, and former Bronco, Brandon Marshall was stabbed by his wife in Florida.

Earlier this week a federal judge ended the NFL lockout, though NFL owners have since appealed the ruling.

At this point, the biggest problem the NFL may have is the amount of time players are spending at home, and the access these women have to sneak through their cellphones.

Lets get these players back on the field and away from their girlfriends and wives before someone really gets hurt.

Michael Vick Shares Advice For Chris Brown and Charlie Sheen

If anyone has the right to offer advice to troubled celebrities like Chris Brown and Charlie Sheen, NFL player Michael Vick does.

In a recent interview with Lee Hawkins of The Wall Street Journal, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback discussed a range of topics from rebuilding his public image to the struggles he faced after serving 18-months in prison on dogfighting and conspiracy charges.

As words of encourage for R&B singer Chris Brown, Vick said, “Just put your faith in God. Don't worry about what people say about you.

“Words will never hurt you. The things that people can say out of their mouth can cut you deep. And sometimes a tongue can be sharper than a knife. But at the same time, you should never allow that to push you over the edge. You should have more self-control. You control your own destiny. You're still admired by so many people.”

In 2010, Vick earned Pro Bowl honors and was named the Associated Press Comeback Player of the Year.

The son of former Eagles quarterback Randall Cunningham died Tuesday after police say he drowned in a hot tub.

2-year-old Christian Cunningham was found floating face down in his family's hot tub around 4:30 p.m. yesterday.

The retired NFL player is now a pastor and uses the hot tub to perform baptisms.

Abuse and neglect detectives were investigating the incident at the pastor's Nevada home but say the incident appeared to be an accident.

Christian Cunningham would've been 3 in December.

Randall was on his way home from a trip to San Diego at the time of the accident.

An unidentified woman was at his home watching the child and several other children.

"In our sorrow, we must come together," FIU president Mark B. Rosenberg said.

Merely 24 hours after a frantic search began for the murder of Florida International University running back Kendall Berry, the person responsible for the act has already come forward for his deed.

Quentin Rashad Wyche, 22, turned himself into authorities and held himself accountable for the stabbing death of Berry on Friday night, according to Miami-Dade police.

Authorities are charging Wyche with second-degree murder and he is currently being held without bond.

According to investigators, the fatal assault started after a verbal altercation between the two as Wyche responded by stabbing Berry with an unknown sharp object on Thursday night around 9 p.m. In regards to what the dispute was about, there is no information relating to it.

Turning himself in, Wyche was able to cool down the FIU community, which was on high alert after hearing the news of Berry's death. Implementing more security for students and providing grief assistance, the university was essentially on lock down.

Those that knew of Berry never knew him to be one to become involved in any heated exchanges.

Expected to occur later this afternoon, [March 29], Berry will be remembered in a “celebration of life” which will take place at FIU's basketball arena.

"To talk about him as a football player would underscore him," Berry's high school coach, Bill Buldini told The Associated Press. "As great as a player as he was for us, he was a great person. He was a good kid. Never had any problems with Kendall. Never got in any trouble. I used to tell kids, if you were looking for a role model, look at Kendall Berry."

Spring football, although expected to close out on Wednesday, has been postponed.
