I guess it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks as crime just seems to be permanently ethcedin Frank Lucas' blood.

The former 81-year-old heroin kingpin, who Denzel Washington portrayed in the film American Gangster, has been charged with theft by deception for deceiving the U.S. Treasury.

According to The New York Daily News, authorities busted the Sr. Gangsta after he claimed he lost a Social Security check and received a replacement and then proceeded to cash them both.  (My man...)

Total value = $17,300.

Lucas allegedly told the U.S. Treasury he lost a Social Security check with funds earmarked for his 15-year-old son and asked for a duplicate, prosecutors said.

Then he cashed both checks in Newark, they said.

Lucas  denied doing anything wrong and is reportedly been trying to work out a deal to keep out of jail.

Julainna Farrait, a 70-year-old former beauty queen, was arrested by the DEA after they say she tried to sell two kilos of cocaine to undercover agents.
She appeared in a court room Thursday to face charges of conspiracy to violate Puerto Rican narcotics laws after being busted on May 19^th.

Farrait reportedly met with undercover officers at a hotel room and attempted to sell them the drugs for $60,000 before being detained and arrested.

She will reportedly be shipped to New York where she will appear in a Manhattan federal court room.

Her husband Frank Lucas was sentenced to 40 years in prison for his notorious drug peddling  and was released in 1991.

In May of 2008 Farrait told Puerto Rican newspaper Primera Hora that she always valued the power of money and that it could buy happiness.

"Those who say that money is not important are lying. People say that money does not buy happiness. It doesn't?"

On February 26 and 27, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan will be in attendance for the Nation of Islam's Annual Saviour's Day Convention where he plans to address the ongoing woes of the country and the world.

Special guests such as Wyclef Jean, Raheeem DeVaughn, Frank Lucas and ‘The Real Freeway' Rick Ross will be there to show their continued support.

This will serve as the 80^th year anniversary of the Nation of Islam's service to the Black community along with others that are victims to oppression in the country.

With the convention being held at the Stephens Convention Center in Illinois, Farrakhan will deliver a keynote address, “The Time and What Must Be Done”, on February 28 at the United Center in Chicago.

"I intend in my Saviours' Day address to provide Divine warning and guidance from the Honorable Elijah Muhammad to the Black community to the American people and to our brother, President Barack Obama," said Min. Farrakhan. "It is critical that everyone understand the time in which we live so that we can act in the manner that could save our lives.”

He also looks to address Haiti as the country continues to lend its support for the country.

“Haiti needs all the assistance she can get. We in the Nation of Islam are organizing our efforts to provide relief and in the spirit of the Million Man March, The Millions Women's March and the Millions More Movement we encourage everyone to organize their efforts into a National Response to Haiti "If we come together and speak with one voice and use the brightest and best of our minds to organize an effective response to this from the entire Black and Hispanic community of America, what a statement that would make. After we assess what we have done and the success of it, we have a working model for bad days that may soon come upon us," said Min. Farrakhan.
