Joell Ortiz Makes Song With 8-Year-Old Producer

Though his Free Agent LP leaked three months ago, Slaughterhouse member, Joell Ortiz officially released his album today through E1.

With his super group's Shady Records debut on the way, and their EP currently bubbling, Joell spoke to his fans via Twitter yesterday about an interesting collaboration with producer Lil BQE, who happens to be only 8 years of age.

Joell posted a pic of the session and footage of the young prodigy can be found making a beat. Lil BQE is pretty efficient on the MPC 2000 putting together some hard drums and crisp samples.

Look out for the kid.

According to the Associated Press, Byron Scott's agent has confirmed that he will indeed be the new head coach for the Cleveland Cavilers.

In a city of panic right now with all the free agency drama surrounding their King Lebron James, a lot of people will have a sigh of relief with the news of the new Head Coach.

His agent Brian McInerney said in an e-mail that both sides are working through the final details, but Scott has agreed and will be announced sometime today as the new Head Coach with or without Bron Bron.

Scott who has won 3 championships as a player is well known as a coach for taking the New Jersey Nets to two finals in the early part of the decade. With Lebron championship hungry, the Cavs are hoping that bringing in a coach/player who has been there and done that, will be the final piece they need to re-new Lebron's contract.

Good move Cleveland.

Now let's admit folks, who actually knows what they are saying when they randomly spurt out the words "Yaowa" after getting a fresh dose of Joell Ortiz?

A term coined and made popular by the rapper, he is currently working on a mixtape by the same title, dropping this month, but WTF does it even mean?

In speaking on the YAOWA mixtape, the Brooklyn native spoke to MTV and gave some incite to his phrase with the background and the overall changing meaning.

"I got so many meanings of yaowa, it's crazy. First, it's used as a term of endearment for dudes around my way. How you say, 'What up?' We say, 'Yaowa!'

Ortiz then went into the back story and how slurred words spoken while drunk can evolve into new slang.

"It came from my man Smash. Shout to Smash. He used to be really drunk around the way. It's a distance between the buildings. He used to be saying, 'Yo, what up?' But he'd be so drunk, it sounded like he was saying, 'Yawhuhup?' He'd be twisted. I just turned it into yaowa."

In the studio, the rapper has coined it to show the higher level that he reaches whenever he begins to rap.

"Every time I get on a beat, I say, 'Yaowa,' before I rap on it. Then I started playing around with it and turned it into [meaning]: 'you're actually one world away.' I be feeling like my flow is not of Earth. I zone out, become an alien with it. On another freestyle, I said, 'I'll put you in a hospital because my flow is so sick.' That's 'your ass on wild anesthetics.' I just be spazzin' out with the yaowa."

As stated earlier, the Latin wordsmith is currently working on his next mixtape, which will be hosted by Don Cannon and DJ Green Lantern, all being a precursor to his sophomore LP Free Agent.

“I just f**ked that beat in the a**.” –Royce Da 5'9”

With the movement starting back in 2009, the rap quartet known as Slaughterhouse were able to set the bar high on lyricism and future expectations for rappers.

Since dropping their self-titled album back in August 2009, the group has yet to lift their boots from the necks of Hip-Hop and any competition that would dare challenge.

The recent barrage of new tracks coming from the camp, individually, will surely give a glimpse into what is coming from their upcoming solo projects and leave fans anticipating the next group album.

JoellOrtiz E1 is f**king cockblocking us from doing something monumental for our fans and our careers. I don't give a f**k who gets mad. It's the truth.

As reported earlier, ¼ of Slaughterhoouse, Joell Ortiz, has become very vocal as it pertains to his situation with his record label, E1 Entertainment.

Making claims that the label wanted Ortiz to build his buzz through creating a beef, now the Brooklyn Bomber is stating that the label is holding him back from getting his business, along with that of Slaughterhouse, underway.

As a result, it seems like his sophomore album Free Agent, might not be handled by the label formerly known as Koch if things continue heading in the downward spiral.

JoellOrtiz im sick of the behind the scenes politics. Its time to expose certain bloodsuckers to some light. Enough is enough.

Promising to wage the war until something is handled and taken care of accordingly, Ortiz leaves the label with some lasting words.

JoellOrtiz this week, I go in. Mark my words. E1 holding good brothers up cause of my agreement. Its not fair to Slaughterhouse

Hopefully this doesn't signal another pushback for Free Agent because whatever E1 might be saying, Ortiz' single “Kawl Me” is definitely buzzing and the Internet is all on the lookout for the upcoming release.

2006 came with the drop of Lloyd Banks sophomore album The Rotten Apple, which also signified the abrupt stop for the rapper.

Unlike the debut, Hunger For More, fans felt that the rapper went too mainstream and dumbed down his lyrical ability to garner sales.

Returning to the scene in 2009 dropping 5 mixtapes, Banks is looking to jump back on the bike and start pedaling again with his upcoming album.

Recently, the rapper dropped the joint “Beamer, Benz or Bentley” featuring Juelz Santana.

“Beamer, Benz Or Bentley” http://usershare.net/31hygmd65mff

With 50 Cent busy in all of his other business ventures, Banks finds the door open for him now to take their brand up a notch and provide somewhat of a reintroduction to the future of G Unit.

During an interview with KG Radio Show, the rapper spoke on the creating opportunity for other artists and how everything was chopped back down to the original three members.

“The founding members are always gonna be there. We built this up, gave opportunities to other artists that were signed including Buck and Game and so on. But as long as that structure is there, we're good. We're solid. You can look forward to me, I'm the future. This summer [for my album]. It's a tight schedule...hopefully we can push for late summer."

Separating himself from Interscope to reportedly become a free agent, alongside Tony Yayo, Banks has been embracing all artists outside of his team as of late such as Nipsey Hussle and Jay Rock, showing that he intends to no longer give off the aura that he is down to create war.

With no title or concrete release date set for the album, his run in 2009 is an indication that Banks is coming back with something to prove on his third go around.

As Benzino has continued his verbal onslaught on Slaughterhouse, he has had words for the likes of Crooked I, Joe Budden and an ensuing battle with Royce Da 5'9. One name of the slaughter that has remained untouched by the Boston native is Joell Ortiz.

With Free Agent coming at the end of March, Ortiz has been heavy in his campaign with countless freestyles released, the Road Kill mixtape, which will have a sequel out sooner than later, along with a project with long time collaborator Novel for their project Defying The Predictable coming around the corner.

Tension is building to build as Zino stated that he is bringing together a group specifically made to attack Slaughterhouse and prove his statement that the four man group is overrated and aren't as lyrically endowed as some are claiming.

Having so much dirt thrown onto the name of his group, the Brooklyn Bomber sets the records straight by saying that he actually has no comment on the situation and leaves Zino to his own opinion.

Speaking with the On-Air-Idiots show, Ortiz gives his reaction to the recent bombarding from Zino.

“That's homeboy's opinion, and that's all I can say.”

Embracing the fact that he actually has no beefs of enemies in Hip Hop, he adds that he will only react if he is tempted and will deal with the situation accordingly if it presents itself.

"My beef is with poverty. I wanna supply jobs to my friends and take them off the street. My beef is with the struggle, what's going on in these streets."

Giving the details on his own project, he also gives some more incite on when to expect the next project from Slaughterhouse.

Check below for more from Joell Ortiz.

After recently dropping the Roadkill mixtape, with more projects coming in the near future, the Brooklyn Bomber known as Joell Ortiz is getting ready to leave another footprint in Hip Hop with the release of his second official studio album, Free Agent.

Slated to drop on March 23, distribution will be handled by E1, who were behind his debut album The Brick (Bodega Chronicles) when they were simply known as Koch Records.

Look out for the first single to be “Call Me” which will be taking the radio by storm sooner than later and has had a music video prepped and is in the process of being released to the masses. The first single tells a nostalgic story of teenage love back in the 90's in Brooklyn.

“Joell Ortiz is one [of] the hottest new emcess to come out of New York. We had a lot of success with the first Joell release and are very excited he continues to be in the E1 family,” said Alan Grunblatt, General Manager of E1 Music.

Features will show a grocery list of notable rappers accompanying Ortiz such as Styles P, Sheek Louch, Raekwon, Maino, Bobby Ray and Talib Kweli. Of course, a party wouldn't be so without Slaughterhouse making sure they tagged along.

Taking care of the boards, production will come from the likes of Red Spyda, Statik Selektah, Moss, Frequency, Sean C and LV, DJ Premier and many more. It seems like everyone is trying to find a way to be a part of this upcoming project.

Ortiz is currently alongside Joe Budden, Crooked I and Royce Da 5'9” as they begin their European Tour which starts January 15.

Slaughterhouse said that they were far from done last year and Street Hop from Royce was able to keep the ball rolling. Let's see what Mr. Ortiz does when the rock is in his hand.

First single, "Call Me"

With the release of Too Hood 2 Be Holloywood at the top of December, there was a lot of change occurring in the life of New Orleans rapper B.G. Not only was he finally able to release his eleventh studio album, he was also able to cut ties with those that were holding him back.

According to the rapper, not only did December 8 mark the drop of his album, it also marked the day that he would receive his freedom papers and should now be a free agent to continue his rap career with whatever label he chooses.

HipHopWired was able to catch up with the rapper prior to the release of Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood and the rapper was able to deliver the news of the true celebration after the release and who he has his eye set on.

“I'm gonna be a free agent. I'm gonna sit down with the people that closest to me like my manager and lawyers and see what's the best route to do.”

B.G. took some time out to provide some clarity to his situation with T.I.'s involvement with his latest album and what led to the demise of his career on Grand Hustle Records.

“No, all that's over with. He was the executive producer of the project with me when it was on Atlantic. After the situation with him and the Hip Hop Awards, they kind of froze up on me, kept pushing the album back. This was pre-recession. Once I felt like they were playing with me, I stopped calling, got back doing what I was doing, creating another opportunity.”

With the talk of a Hot Boys reunion and album, some would speculate that the rapper might find a nesting ground at his own home and align himself with Baby and Cash Money once again.

“If the numbers right, if it makes sense.”

Whatever road the rapper chooses to walk down and whoever decides to do business, B.G.'s track records shows a man that will truly be an asset to whatever team will allow him to play.

Since releasing their self-titled debut back in July, Slaughterhouse has continued to catapult their careers in a way that a major label was unwilling to do when they were initially coming into the game individually.

Now with their presence undeniable, the major are clearly out scouting for new talent to bring in and Slaughterhouse are the top draft picks. According to Joell Ortiz, there will be an announcement before the week closes from a major label as it pertains to the future of Slaughterhouse having a new home to unleash their lyrical onslaught.

Standing behind Eminem during the “Forever” music video had fans hoping for the best and although there has been discussion with Royce Da 5'9” about linking back up with Slim Shady, there has been no definite word as of yet if Slaughterhouse will align themselves with Shady Records.

After the album dropped, all four members have each dropped their own separate LP or EP as Ortiz rounded everything out with the release of his mixtape Road Kill Tuesday, which should be followed by a joint take with longtime collaborator Novel for Denying the Predictable.

Everything for Ortiz is leading up to the release of his sophomore album, Free Agent, which is expected to hit February 23.

February will reportedly see Joe Budden close out the concept trilogy started by Halfway House and Padded Room with the release of his third album The Great Escape, although there has, surprisingly been no word from Budden in regards to the album aside from that fact that it will hopefully be out by that time.

Stay tuned in to see what happens for Slaughterhouse.
