According to Dozier she was actually trying to calm her brother down when cops were called to the scene and shot him with a stun gun. When she questioned their actions, Dozier was kicked in the stomach by Wheeler. "I was upset because I couldn't believe an officer would kick me, with my child in my stomach," she said.

Officer Wheeler downplayed the incident, writing it off as a “front push kick to the abdomen, as he was taught to do at the academy.” He also claims to have not known that Dozier was pregnant, and stated in the police report that she “approached him aggressively.” Not surprisingly, Wheeler has had two complaints filed against him in the last two months, and while the investigation is pending, the police initially closed out the case concluding that Wheeler responded correctly.

Dozier is the latest pregnant woman to allege police brutality. As we reported, a pregnant woman in Florida was tasered by police following an altercation at her house, which resulted in her arrest. The state of Georgia has also gotten some negative publicity behind a bar owner posting racist remarks about President Obama.

A prisoner in Georgia's Fulton County Jail shot another inmate in the hand, leading to a lockout on Tuesday.

According to the Washington Post:

Fulton County sheriff's spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said Tuesday a gun no bigger than a cell phone was found in the area where the two had a dispute. She says the injured inmate was treated at the jail for non-life threatening injuries.

Flanagan says the gun was “not a county-issued weapon.”

Authorities offered no explanation on how the gun got inside the Fulton County Jail.

The jail was placed on lockdown, and some employees and visitors in the lobby were evacuated.

Flanagan says the suspect is a 28-year-old inmate from Atlanta in his 14th stay at the jail since 2000.

A photo of the inmate, Kortez Hurt, responsible for firing the weapon is posted below.

Stone was pulled over last night for speeding and authorities arrested the singer after finding out she was driving on a suspended license.

The singer famous for tracks "No More Rain" was booked on both charges and released a short time later.

Waka Flocka Flame recently sat down in an interview to discuss the recent raid that took place at his home over the weekend.

As previously reported, authorities raided his property and cuffed fellow Brick Squad rapper Gucci Mane, who was later released, under suspicions of prostitution after finding marijuana and weapons at the home.

In an interview with Hot 93.7 Waka states that the whole issue was a misunderstanding that should have never happened.

“They tried to accuse me of gang banging because of what they heard in the streets,” Waka said in the interview. “I am a rapper, who raps and gang bangs? To me that's like hustling backwards, how can you do that?”

Waka also states that the rumor that an associate shown on stage in a video [that has since been removed] was the FBI informant who tipped off the bust is a lie.

“Naw man, that ain't true,” Waka continued. “I haven't seen the video, but it's the internet so it's not true.”

In addition to discussing his arrest, Waka discussed his mention on MTV's Top MCs of 2010 list, stating that the honor was a surprise.

" I thought it was a lyrical list," Waka continued. "So it was an honor and for all of the haters that said I shouldn't have been on the list.  A  lot of the cats they say I can't beat lyrically don't even have an album out or haven't dropped one in forever-so it is what it is."

There is currently an FBI investigation underway to determine if a federal hate crime was broken.  Georgia is one of five states in the US that does not hold severe penalties for hate crimes.

Child predators and abductions occur at an alarming rate within the United States as adults are able to easily manipulate the youth that surf the Web aimlessly with curiosity.

Introducing a measure later today, State Rep. Rob Teilhet is attempting to give the Georgia Bureau of Investigation the authority to send the information of sexual offenders to social sites such as Facebook and MySpace.

From doing so, the sites will then have the ability to have their information removed and create a roadblock so that these offenders won't be able to create a profile along with reporting any suspicious activity that they monitor to the state authorities.

"The Internet is a powerful social and educational tool for our children. It should not be a danger-zone populated by pedophiles," said Teilhet, according to The Associated Press.

In an attempt to make the movement more National, states such as New York, California and Oklahoma have already adopted the proposal or are in the process of considering it.

"Georgia's unemployment crisis is deepening," Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said in a statement released early Wednesday.

With a financial crisis that is showing no signs of diminishing, some states are still feeling the blunt trauma as the job market has ceased to open up nationally.

Last reported back in January, the unemployment rate in Georgia is steadily climbing and it was announced today, by the state's commissioner, that it had hit a new record.

With the previous high at 10.3 the month prior, the rate marked in at the top of the year was 10.4 percent.  This would show the rate going up 2 percentage points up from the 8.4 percent that was reported the previous year.

Being crippled by an “expanding” job market that seems to be invite only, the state continue to implement cut backs on jobs.

According to the Department of Labor, the Atlanta metro area, alone, lost 93,200 jobs, which is a 4% increase from January 2009.

In trying to cut close to $600 million from its budget, colleges and universities within the state would be forced to lay off thousands of employees, severely limit freshman classes and eradicate popular programs outside of the campus boundaries.

Such a drastic move is in preparation for a hearing taking place Wednesday as the General Assembly is making efforts to find a means to fill a potential $1.1 billion budget deficit for the fiscal year that would start on July 1, according to sources at the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Stemming from a report that was put together by the University System of Georgia, there would be close to 2,500 faculty and staff jobs that would be cut at Georgia State University, Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia.

"We strongly believe that cuts of this nature, if implemented, would severely compromise our ability to provide the educated populace that is necessary for the continued success of this state," Chancellor Erroll Davis said in a letter Monday to key lawmakers. "Such a reduction would dramatically and negatively alter a university system in which the people of this state have invested so much; a reduction of this size is not in the best interest of Georgia and its future economic development."

As revenue continues to shrink, however, drastic times are apparently calling for desperate measures as Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers stated that the cuts are imminent and cannot be avoided.

Cuts, unfortunately, will mean that tuition will see an increase as funds are trying to be built up for these institutions of higher learning.  Davis stated that a 77% increase in tuition would only be able to raise more than half of the cuts.

The University System contains more than 300,000 students and more than half are within a program that would not have them fearing an increase in rates as their tuition is locked in for four years.

The other half, however, may be forced to pay an extra $1,000 a year which could bring in $150 million.

Other: Accept 155 fewer students
